Sauvignon from Alto Adige - an easy wine to like. Usually luscious, ripe, powerful, something to say. And so it goes again here...
I grabbed this guy from the clearance bin and only later realized I had visited the winery a few years ago, a big fancy glossy floored operation in the adorable town of Bolzano - the wine is humble and fits together in itself with sweet quirks and lots of umph.
Sticky grilled peaches garnished with cool mint and a Chartreusian blend of honeyed anise, dried orange peel, and peppery herbs. — 3 years ago

Wonderful with our fresh monkfish from the local fish truck. Purchased a few years ago and the age has given this great wine more depth. Really nice owners if you are in their zone. — 5 years ago

Excellent Bord blend from the Dolomites - reminiscent of the Sicilian P-N last night — 3 years ago
Vintage 2016. The color is bright and ruby. The nose is red fruit and minerals. The mouth keeps the same sensation the confy increases, but well-rounded. The aftre taste is short, which is a pity. — 6 years ago
10 years on the lees! Rich, full, and just a touch honeyed with loads of hazelnut and a beautiful bead of a bubble. Don’t know the grape breakdown but this is an incredible sparkler. And from Südtirol!!! €40 from Enovit in Bolzano. — 7 years ago
Superb interpretation of a Gewurztraminer.
Loud while elegant on the nose with a slightly bitter, sweet and acidic mouth feel. — 5 months ago
Amazing mineral wine with some backbone. Almost 2 years on the lees gives you a creamy and buttery texture, with notes of ripe yellow stonefruit, hay, quince and some nutty and waxy tones in the end. Drink now and enjoy — 5 months ago

The best white wine I've ever personally purchased from the store. This time, on a trip to Bolzano. — 5 years ago
Light smoke. Red and black fruit. High acidity and brightness. Delightful. A story buyers notes: Santa Maddalena Classico is its own DOC in the heart of Bolzano. By law the wine must be 90% Schiava (aka Trollinger) and 10% Lagrein. This combination works to add a touch of richness and body to the normally bright and aromatic schiava. The vineyard is a large slope scaling from 250 meters to 500 meters, with the Lagrein grown on the lower portion of the hill. These are old vines averaging between 40-50 years old. Ripe white peach, pretty floral notes as well, of course different grapes (Sylvaner vs. Gruner Veltliner), but this richer, fuller, a little less acidity, but overall the more impressive wine. We’ll see which pairs better with pasta in white clam sauce!?!? — 8 hours ago
