Anyone know what movie this wine is from?
45+ minute decant. Dark ruby color. Nose is a mix between bbq and cough medicine. Plum, prunes, and sweet fruit on the palate. Very CDP like. Super smooth and really coats the palate.
Not my type of wine, but great gift by my wife because of the back story. Glad I got to try it!! — 7 years ago
Earthy aromas with a touch of iodine with medicinal/cough medicine type aromas. Pruney notes. None of this is a negative, in fact pretty typical Heathcote. Known as a home for full bodied Shiraz but this wine at 12 years with supple tannins and medium to full bodied is very drinkable for someone who is gravitating away from full throttle Shiraz. — 7 years ago
Buttery, candied grapefruit and pineapple, lemon marshmallow, aloe, beeswax candle, juniper berry and pine parchment aromatically. Fluff biscuit head that pontificated amidst perimeter chatter leaving scrawl and stalactites. Creamy with burnt points like baked Alaska. Yammy and browned with sugar before pulling apart to cola, egg cream and bitter chocolate with electric malt shadows. Gum Arabic and pine sap are just the catalysts to this green pinecone and sweet grass turned bitter almond, and oregano oil medicine rinse. Kicks out all the head fog that ails you, and replaces it with resin and tar. Sinus meds. #Lagunitas #hopstoopid #ale #ibu #ibuubme #102ibu4u #LagunitasBrewing #abv #beer #bitter #headmeds — 7 years ago
Just it's name #elixir then there's the #chartreuse factor. Just WOW! In France it's even sold in some pharmacies and I get that, but if this is medicine Mary Poppins, then give me more — 8 years ago
Base whiskey, nice smoky one. After a hard day to relax. Like a medicine. — 5 years ago
Pop and pour. The nose...just enrapturing. Soft coffee and coconut notes, bright raspberry, ripe wild strawberry, herbal notes, savory notes...amazing complexity. On the palate, lovely acidity, a touch of bitter medicine, earth and tree bark, then red raspberry, pepper. Medium bodied, and soft but very finely grained tannin on the finish. My best bottle so far. — 6 years ago
After a long work week - sometimes the best medicine is your favorite takeout Thai and your favorite winemaker’s AOC. Gorgeous acidity - vanilla cream and young pear through out, just enough depth to fully relax and enjoy a week-end. — 7 years ago
30+ minute decant but could use more. Dark purple color. Cherry, oak, and cough medicine on the nose. Would not have guessed 12.5% OH from the nose. Smells like a Napa Cab. Wine lacks depth but is fairly fruit forward. Easy drinking with large CDP flavors and influence. Medium minus finish. Not my kind of Bordeaux, but not bad by any means. — 7 years ago
I’m absolutely in love with these ‘05 Bordeaux’s!! 30 minutes open in the bottle was perfect, but it was probably fine if you PnP’d as it really faded over time. Dark purple color and insane nose of dark cherry, earth, and tar. Palate is dominated by more cherry, cough medicine, cinnamon, and tobacco. Awesome texture. Candy in a bottle! Solid finish. Paired nicely with bavette steak and coconut rice. I’m a buyer of more!! Would have scored higher if I didn’t drink over two hours. — 7 years ago
On the nose; perfumed, floral, spiced fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries, strawberries, raspberries & hues of blue fruits. Dark, rich soils, anise and dark fresh foral bouquet. The body is M and the tannins M+. Spices flow before the wine reveals the ripe, fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, strawberries and hues of blueberries. Loads of dark spices, dark chocolate, mocha powder, crushed rocks, dry stones, loamy soils, leather, dry brush and bright violets. The acidity is nice and the balanced finish is long, elegant and turns slightly dry on the very backend. Photos of; their signage as you approach, David March (Winemaker), a feather with hand painted artwork of their bottle in great detail and the pond on the front grounds. Producer history and notes...Garrison Creek Cellars is a project of Walla Walla natives Michael Murr and his childhood friend Dave March. While Michael Murr lives on the east coast, Dave March is both Winemaker and Winery Manager in Walla Walla. Garrison Creek Cellars has 300 acres situated along the Washington/Oregon border on the fringes of Walla Walla, but on the Washington side. David March (Winemaker) studied nuclear medicine and was a department head at the local hospital before joining the Garrison Creek Cellars partnership. Garrison Creek Cellars is a boutique winery making only about 1000 cases each year. They make; Malbec, Cabernet, Syrah, Tempranillo, Merlot and a little Zinfandel. Some of these are under 100 cases total production. Garrison Creek Cellars sits on the famous Les Collines vineyard. They sell about 97% of the fruit in their vineyard. They choose to keep their wines in small production and are also slow to arrive to market as they will not release anything before it's time...something I respect. When a winery releases their new reds, most are generally not ready to drink. They need to bottle age! Garrison Creek releases their wines when they are a little closer to being ready to drink when they arrive or are picked up. — 8 years ago
Flower-scented watermelon rind, unripe strawberry, bitters, weak tea, medicine, and honey-mustard? Mustard! What the what?!? Yes. Snyder’s honey mustard pretzel flavor. Beyond. — 6 years ago
blessed Sunday afternoons............. earth, flint, fruit, medicine, ginseng root, capsicum way in the distance, dr brown black cherry soda in the trunk.....and only just opened... — 6 years ago
Deep purple in color and cloudy, with a short reddish /brick rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, vanilla, wood, spices, forest floor, tobacco leaf, wet cave, medicine, vegetables, black pepper, acetone, old leather and earth.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, raspberries, wood, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, dark coffee, earth, wet leaves, herbs, vinaigrette and vegetables.
Medium plus on the finish with sour cherries and fine grained tannins.
This 9 year old Syrah from Russian River Valley is still drinking nicely, although on the way out.
Unbalanced with a nice mouthfeel and nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle and died after 90 minutes of airtime. After 60 minutes tannins come out.
I really liked the nose more than the palate, and loved smelling on it.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
14.3% alcohol by volume. Unfiltered.
90 points.

Wheatgrass from Jugo Juice. Sleepy eucalyptus for the tired Koalas of this world. New age old age medicine. — 7 years ago
Out of magnum, he says this is the best bottle of wine he ever produced. Story goes that in a terrible vintage he did everything he could to produce a minimal amount of wine and it turned out to be about a ton or a ton and a half. Incredibly concentrated, no signs of under ripeness, this wine was a monster, a baby that kept evolving in the glass, it was actually too big for me and the medicine I’m taking. Instant headache just from tasting and spitting. Crazy powerful. Reminiscent of Australia without the herbs. Power with finesse. — 8 years ago
2012. Pop n pour the menthol smell was so strong and it tasted like medicine. 20 minutes later this girl was singing beautifully . So smooth . Structured and tons of flavor — 8 years ago
Gentle nose of black currant, leather, black tea, Chinese medicine herbs, vanilla, with hint of incense and tobacco leaf. Medium body. Vibrant palate with fresh acidity and additional taste of cherry and sweet spice. Mellow tannins.
It's mind boggling that this sells at Costco at $19.99. I don't know how C.V.N.E do it. I prefer this over the 09 Vina Real Grand Reserva. Maybe I should retaste the Vina Real. — 8 years ago
Mike Saviage

Deep dark ruby, barely translucent. Meaty nose. Notes of black cherries, cherry liqueur, herbal medicine, rose petals and a hint of pine needles. Bold and rich in the mouth. Masculine. Good job for the hot vintage. Makes me think of a big Paso Pinot, but with some funk. I liked this more than I thought I would. Good now but probably can get a little better with some additional age. — 5 years ago
