The first night it kind of got a little overwhelming to be perfectly honest. I had to call it quits and try it again a couple of days later and then I finally got the smoky and earthy and savory flavors. The structure is definitely there and it takes some time to unwind. Very tight very expressive Wine, definitely enjoyed it. — 5 months ago
On the nose this wine is ripe raspberries and it carries through to the palate. It is structured on soft tannins that dissipate on the palate after 45 minutes decanted. As the wine opens I get a hint of violet mixed with dark fruit. This is a beautiful wine to drink now & I suspect it will remain so another 3-5 years. — 2 months ago
Well, what an overachiever this wine is! Mayne Lalande, a little known chateau in Listrac-Médoc, and a bottle which I picked up for a humble price at auction around a year ago. It’s fresh, sappy, delicious and positively refreshing at 12% abv. I wish I had more of this. A joyous rendition of old left-bank Bordeaux. — 9 months ago
I don’t appreciate buttery and oaky Chardonnay. This excellent Chardonnay has reduced the traditional characters and highlights
notes of honeysuckle, apple and Meyer lemon. Flavors of sickle pear, citrus and a dash of salt. A subtle blend of mineral and acidity. Excellent pairing with Thanksgiving. — 4 years ago

Dark ruby/ brick in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
Fruity on the nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing over ripen fruits, cedar, vanilla, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates, tobacco and spices.
This is a very tasty Merlot from Saint Emilion. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and elegant. Complex and interesting.
This 23 year old is much fruitier than I expected it to be. I absolutely loved the nose on this, and kept going back for more.
Good by itself or with food. A great experience to taste these kind of old wines.
A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (50% new) French Oak barrels for 16 months.
14% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Medium ruby , wide quite light garnet ruby rim . This has quite closed at first , with ripe raspberry , spiced red cherry , strawberry, touch of spice also. On the palate this is quite fresh and vivid, raspberry , red currant , wild strawberry , touch of spice. Quite high acidity and lightly grippy tannins . Light red fruited finish , of pretty good medium length . Still pretty young , and quite well defined and detailed, vivid, even though there is a bit more oak spice noticable than the Pommard tasted yesterday. With time this is drinking well now but will last well a further 5-10 . — 11 hours ago
