Az. Agri. S. Cristina Lugana DOC 2020: Great balance. Beautiful acidity. Clean refreshing taste. Lots of minerals & lemon and a perfectly long, savory finish. This was an excellent white wine (honestly one of my most favorites of this Italian trip so far); a perfect way to enjoy our last dinner in Bellaria! Cheers🍷 — 3 years ago
Awesome. Herbaceous and minty but lush and textural. Rivals champagne for sure, with a little something extra and unusual that the latter can’t provide. — 3 years ago

Driven by lemon zest, candied grapefruit, underripe peach, salinity and dry minerality. — 5 months ago
No barrel, but full of tertiar aromas and mineral hints. Untypical Lugana. Very pleasant — 7 months ago

Delightfully fresh mineralogy white with almond fruit, great with fish. — a year ago
This Lombardian white wine opens with a floral nose, which is quickly joined by the scent of apricots and grapefruit. There is an overriding sense of salinity, with a touch of lanolin as well. On the palate, that salinity comes bursting forth in a nutty, mineral-driven flavor. The acidity is racy enough for shellfish but not sharp enough to hurt the taste buds. If you’d like a wine which comes on like an Albariño and then behaves like a Roussanne before becoming a Sauvignon Blanc, this wine should make you happy. It made me ecstatic. — 3 years ago

Apple, lemon candy, peach, mango and tangerine. Great acidity and balance. — 7 months ago
Paired with feta and spicy tomato dip and grilled salmon with coconut dill sauce with tomatoes and green beans. It is a full bodied white that pairs beautifully with the complex flavors of a fish dish. Yet complementary enough that it balances the notes of yellow fruit. — 9 months ago
Paired w/roasted butternut squash ricotta, white truffle and pine nuts — 3 years ago
Nose: underripe mango
Palate: preserved lemon, subtle salinity, mineral finish. — 3 years ago
How to create this taste from merlot and CS. Of course, it contains a bit another grape. But mainly process is a bit different. Dry up in open door room for 2 months. So the taste is condensed, a bit sweet. But and also Lychee taste derived from its terroir. I am confused with mixed with white originally though. Amazing aroma and flavor. @2100, X, 171110 — 7 years ago

This is another Lugana wine, 100% Turbiana. It differs from the “Clay” in that it’s 100% stainless steel, whereas the Clay has 10% of the grapes aged in (old) oak barrels. This is a common practice in the Lugana region; one wine release is “fresh”, aged in all stainless steel, made for immediate drinking, whereas the reserve release has up to 10% of the grapes in restrained oak, and is intended to be aged a bit, like a Riesling.
This “fresh” wine has stronger flavors than the Clay. It really reminds one of a top-tier New Zealand SB. The citric flavors are there, but not overpowering; however, the finish has that bright acidic buzz. The body has the grassy tones that I am coming to associate with this region/style. There’s a touch of sweetness, easy to miss, which comes to the fore when paired with spicier foods.
I wish these wines were easier to procure in the US! They’re made primarily for the German market, hence the similarities to Riesling. — 4 months ago
