Best in a while. Fruit forward, low tannins, easy drinking. — 5 years ago
Double decant (lots of fine sediment). Taking the time machine back to 1990! Still a glorious dark red with some slight bricking on the edge. On the nose: red fruit, earthy, plum, and slight barn yard funk (which I luv). Taste: red fruit, plum, smokey, floral, currants, sweet still there tannins...low acidity and medium finish....took a chance buying a few bottles and drinking really well! Glad I did. — 6 years ago
4th bottle of this year. Once again don’t know why it’s rated so low. This Beaujolais has a fantastic combination of being an approachable Beaujolais but also having artisanal elements that will make true wine aficionados enjoy it. Sometimes when you get a great funky Beaujolais people who aren’t big into wine don’t “get it”. With this wine you get the joy of Beaujolais and enough structure to keep you happy. Moderately large for a Beaujolais but with some drier fruit notes at the end. I have rated this before if you want specific notes — 6 years ago

Dark berries and black fruit, acid is medium low, tannin is medium, earthy undertones, good varietal characters, great value at 19.99 — 9 years ago
3 hour decant(decent chunky/cloudy sediment). Checking in on the hyped 05 vintage! A phenomenal dark ruby garnet color with little signs of aging. On the nose: Nice nose of red fruit, graphite, floral, crushed rocks, cedar, menthol, and toasty vanilla. Taste: smooth, dry full body wine with black fruit, leather, cassis, anise, earth, and a bitter chocolate dry long finish. Still a little austere with some firm tannnis hanging on wanting a few more years to soften. A better score to come???Hopefully!! — 4 years ago
A spicy Pinot. White pepper, light red fruit, pine needles, oak, and a hint of motor oil. On the palate, it starts with a mild sweet/nuttiness. I suppose it's almond. It subsides with pronounced nuts, with low tannins..
Had this with baked cod. Nice pair .
UPDATE:
Wow, so Delectable is great. I just learned that I had this wine/vintage last year, and rated it 89+ points. Nevertheless, this disturbed me. I can say that the residual sugar isn't hitting me this time (maybe bottle age is helping) otherwise, some notes are redundant-- e.g., spice. Also, the wood has definitely mellowed and now I find it enjoyable.

First bottle since Saturday night’s bacchanal in tony West Des Moines (I still have 20+ wines to post)....it may be a combo of a great wine with low etoh and depriving myself for too long but this was just tremendous tonight. Formidable backbone and oozing balance, restraint and ripe red fruit. Floral dried cherry and pound cake. — 6 years ago
A lithe and racy pinot. Took a couple hours of air for the fruit to peak out but started to show bright red fruits with a hint of green pepper then finishes very crisply. These are a low alcohol and high acid style and will probably drink best in a few years as they continue to integrate. — 6 years ago
Hands down one of the best wines I have ever had. Smooth, low tannin, fruit forward, rich burgundy in color. Absolutely divine. A bit more complex and fruit forward first day, especially before it opened, than on the second day, but a joy to drink. — 8 years ago
On the nose, bramble fruits of; wild blackberries, plum, raspberries & sweet dark cherries. Green pepper, vanilla, salted caramel, dark soils and fresh & dry dark florals. The body is medium lean, tannins are extremely soft & round. Wild blackberries, plum, raspberries, sweet dark cherries, green pepper, black oil, wood shavings, dry stone, black cherry cola, vanilla, salted caramel, dark soils and fresh & dry dark florals. The acidity pours over the palate. The finish is not quite there but Randy's wines are 20 plus year wines. However, it's well balanced with 50-50 fruit and earth. Only concern here was the green bell pepper. Photo tour of; their Howell Mountain vines, barrel rooms, low yield vines and the legendary Randy Dunn. — 8 years ago
Fine dust sediment in the glass. The colour tells of some development. Dark cherries, smoky mineral, balsamic vinegar and just a hint of leather on the nose. A bit volatile, to my liking. Very well balanced. Medium alcohol, good acidity, dark fruit and low, fine tannins. Glad that this one bottle I had left was in such good shape. — 5 years ago
It has been a little while since we have had Olivier’s 2014. It’s our last bottle of three and the honey notes have definitely deepened.
The nose shows; sweet & sour lemons, green & golden apple, lime zest-candy, ripe pineapple, green melon, apricots, white peach, gentle, warm, white spice, beautiful chalkiness, caramel, vanillin, honey, candle wax notes, sea spray-fossils, understated limestone & volcanic minerals, fruit blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies, spring flowers, jasmine with mixed flower greens.
The body is full, thick & slightly waxy. Nice viscosity. sweet & sour lemons, green & golden apple, lime zest-candy, overripe pineapple, green melon, apricots, white peach, grapefruit w/ a touch of sugar, gentle, warm, white spice, beautiful, powdery, chalkiness, caramel, vanillin, honey, candle wax notes, light butter & cream quality, fresh herbaceousiness, sea spray-fossils, understated limestone & grainy, grey, volcanic minerals, light sulphur/flintiness, fruit blossoms, yellow flowers/lilies, spring flowers, jasmine with mixed flower greens. The acidity is round/phat...really well done. The nice finish glides gently with elegance, good balance, just hits the low end of rich & lush and depositing soft, powdery minerals as it long sets.
