A Sauvignon Blanc just the way i like it, beautifully matured, elegant fruit, voluminous, mouth-filling, yet mineral, with a long finish, i like it very much — 4 months ago
— 10 months ago

2014: Well balanced, feels like berries, some floral notes — 3 months ago
Out to dinner at a steakhouse and went with this for the table. Loving it 😍 still a bit fruity but flavorful. I know it’s still opening up but I’m liking the transition 🤩 — 10 months ago
Very classic Sancerre. Just ripe enough to avoid unpleasant greenness, there’s some fruit, but the terroir really shines through. Some gooseberry fruit but loads of wet limestone and a little Chablis-like brothiness even. In the mouth it’s relatively full, has good acids and great balance. — 3 years ago
— 5 years ago
Perusbordöö, juuri sellainen kuin klassisen hyvän bordöön olettaa olevankin, hyvä pöytäpunkku — 7 years ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Merlot (30%). Dark ruby color with a slight garnet/orange rim. Wine was quite tight upon opening so aeration was needed. Aromas of black fruit, graphite and purple flowers. Flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plums, black olives and tobacco. Distinct oaky note on the long and somewhat sharp finish. Medium-plus body and acidity. Balance was a bit off. Probably should have aged this one a bit longer. — 3 months ago
This Chavignol-based cuvée is very deep. Nose has just-ripe orchard fruit, with a fleeting tropical suggestion, an herbal/minty note, and a deep mineral stank, almost feral in nature. Deeply flavored too, it’s bone dry and full bodied, and while there’s an up-front bit of fruit, the huge minerality quickly takes charge. Medium acids. Another Chavignol geology seminar in a glass. — 4 months ago
Color: almost no color
Nose: light floural
Fruit: critic and hints of passion fruit
Herbal: none or not detectable
Wood: none or not detectable
Acidity: good freshness, integrated and not sharp
Alcohol: medium to light body, not hot at all
Overall: good length, well balanced — 2 years ago
Great wine just outside Sancerre region so cheaper. — 4 years ago
Drank 12/16/19. Nice with burgers.
Nose of red currant and cherry, with a bit of smoke imparting the only noticeable oak influence. Flavors of plums black cherry, and a touch of earth on the simple palate. Medium silky tannins. If I had to knock this wine, I would say that it lacks a bit of complexity and length on the finish, but overall very enjoyable. Would pair nicely with lighter fare, such as pork or chicken as well. Excellent QPR at around $13.(Costco)

2022 vintage. One of the Castel family estates since 1973 ( before the estate was known as Domaine de Tartuguière). With 144 hectares of vines, this is the largest contiguous vineyard in the Médoc. Vanessa Trouy has been in charge since 2002. Dark red colour. Needs a bit of time to open up, give it 15 minutes to release attractive aromas of strawberries, flowers, nutmeg and oak. Good fruit concentration in the mouth, with a solid tannic structure, fresh acidity and nice length. This will need a few years to show all its potential, and has serious ageing potential. For now decanting is recommended, pair with a good steak. Another terrific Bordeaux value. — 3 months ago
