Pinot syrup but enough acid to keep it balanced! Not your average Sonoma Pinot — 5 years ago
Deep dark fruit!! Liquid Smoke....Cedar...Mocha...Milk chocolate.
Graham cracker ...Cassis...just enough spice to create a wonderful balance. As others have stated @Mike Smith magic! Tomorrow 58th Birthday...was going to keep tradition and do a nice long run in a.m....but Iowa weather has different plans..sometimes compromise is best! Could not have chosen a better wine! — 5 years ago
A great blend... drink up — 6 years ago
This bottle of Abreu was perhaps the heaviest bottle of wine I’ve ever had. I’m going to keep it in my house for protection. Such an impressive wine overflowing with rich weighty goodness. Dark fruit profile and smooth silky tannins. Plus I got Briana to try and enjoy both escargot and foie gras. Success. — 7 years ago
Fruity. Not complicated. We keep it in our modest rotation — 7 years ago
Deep ruby with aromas of dark fruit, sweet spice and herbs. On the palate of this mostly Cab Sauv with a splash of Merlot, sat on French oak for 18 months (about 1/3 new), flavors of rich and juicy cherry and blackberry with savory spice and integrated toasty oak that gives this medium+ length wine a satisfying finish. Artemis should keep well for at least another 5+ years. — 4 years ago
Delicious. Will keep going strong for many more years. — 4 years ago
Pontet Canet tasting and dinner with Alfred Tesseron.
2016 is such a beautifully, ripe and elegant vintage. The 16 stands tall from the other vintages we tasted.
The body is rich, bold and thick. Beautiful dark fruits of ripe, ruby; blackberries, plum, dark cherries, strawberries and amazing blue fruits shine as it sit on the palate. There is more balance in the 16...fruits and earth. Saddle-wood, tobacco, leather, dry soil, dry & moist clay, dry stone, rich dark earth, lead pencil, bright, fresh, red, blue, dark flowers with violets. Very nice acidity with a beautiful finish.
Don’t even touch a bottle for 15 plus years. This nice now but, you will only be cheating yourself out of a very special wine 15 plus years from now.

Well balanced Cab from Oak Knoll in Napa. Very drinkable and just enough complexity to keep it interesting. This 2015 is just starting to show and would benefit from another year or two in the bottle. Big, bold, and balanced. Would be interested in trying other “reserve” wines from Black Stallion. Good value for this price point. ($25) — 5 years ago

Nose is honeyed, floral and saline, with some ripe apple. Nice acidic finish makes this one an easy sipper with some intrigue up front. — 7 years ago
A bit more subdued than the last bottle but still very good and a fun bottle for a nice Easter dinner. Better after 2 hours in the decanter than 4, so keep that in mind for your own planning. Obviously a very classic wine with all the subdued dark red fruit, earth, leather, and integrated tannins that you might look for in good Bordeaux. Trademark refreshing finish of good stony / mineral notes with just a hint of refreshment. — 4 years ago
Strawberry/basil agua fresca. Silky. Not the cleanest nose. — 4 years ago
Absolutely wow!! Tannins have been well integrated but there’s still enough acidity to keep it fresh. Good drinking now but this will continue to evolve for a loooong time. #makersdinner — 6 years ago
Needed a little time to open up, but once it did, this wine had some wonderful layers. This opened with plum, blueberry, purple flowers and rich soil before changing over to more notes of leather, and subtle pepper and nutmeg. The tannins were still pretty firm but balanced. It was a good match for a filet with blue cheese/black pepper/parsley. It was interesting to keep finding the changes in the wine over a couple hours. — 6 years ago

@Delectable can you please add the 2003 vintage. I keep getting error message 2000.
It’s a very good night when you have an Allen Brothers Ribcap and an older Pichon Lalande. It is my favorite beef pairing. The 03 is just starting to move into its good phase. I would not open another 03 for at least 5 more years and has another 10 plus years of good drinking ahead.
I decanted it for about 2 1/2...could have used another half hour. Once it was fully open, the body was elegant and the tannins like velvet. The ripe black raspberries & raspberries led the rush onto the palate. Followed by; blackberries, dark cherries and a little strawberries on the long set. Gentle earth of; stones, clay & loamy dry soil, fresh tobacco, graphite, suede style leather, some dark spice, understated baking spices of; vanillin, cinnamon, nutmeg and just a dash of clove. Dark, red, purple & some blue florals. The acidity was excellent. The creamy, velvety, elegant, well balanced in fruit and earth was harmonious wire to wire.
The pairing causes my eyes to roll and let out an mmmmm.
