Paso Robles Sauvignon Blanc

One of my favorite domestic SBs (I gravitate toward New Zealand SBs) with nice minerality and tropical fruit galore. Some pear there too. Yum. Love this one really cold. — 9 months ago

Sagacious Paso Robles Grenache Blend 2012

2012 Vintage. 39% Mourvèdre, 35% Syrah, 26% Grenache. 15.9% Alcohol. After Saturday’s First Tracks, has to pull another Law. The Sagacious is a completely different animal than First Tracks and we loved this just as much with Mourvèdre funk leading the flavor and bouquet. — 4 years ago

Cherry & baking spice. A little short on the finish, but a great deal at $20. Was absolutely singing with miso-glazed pork chops. — 5 years ago

20/26 Vigneti delle Dolomiti Rosé

Pinot + Merlot + Lagrein = a mere 2.5g/l sugar and high acidity. A lovely rosé from the Dolomites. The richness is something I don’t see except in the warmest Provence years. Very good… could be a go-to summer rosé. — 3 years ago

Brut Champagne Pinot Meunier

Love the label. Love this! There is a Meyer lemon peel, verbena, lightly toasted pine nut in the nose and the flavors in the mouth mirror those. While it is mouth watering, it’s also rich. Vintages: 2013/2014. Disgorged 1/26/2018 TBL — 5 years ago

Pommard Pinot Noir 2016

Muted nose, rustic style, earth and spice. This wine should be paired with flannel and a fire. I’m never going camping (again), but if I were I would bring this wine.

2016 Justin Girdarn Pommard. 100% Pinot Noir. Pommard comes from three sites, “Les Vignots, “Les Cras,” and “Les Cote.” Côte de Beaune.

Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2009

9.3

Found this in the odd lots bin at Kadota's Liquor near my old high school in Hilo, Hawaii a few days ago. Freaking delicious! Earthy, cherries, but very high toned for a SB Pinot of this era. Wish I still had some of this in my cellar. Justin was killing it from Day 1. — 6 years ago

Booker Vineyard Paso Robles Grenache Syrah 2008

Mmmm...fantastic wine from Justin at Saxum. Was going to open a 2005 or 2006, but the ‘08s appear to be evolving more rapidly than a lot of the adjacent vintages. Great primary aromas of blackberries and other dark fruits. Doesn’t have some of the roasted meat/iodine aromatics I expect from Paso syrahs, but ‘08 might have been a much warmer vintage than is typical. Has a great evolution on the palate and a great finish. Fantastic. — 6 years ago
