It has a masculine interpretation of Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Woody and oaky on the nose. Dusty with good fruit and acidity on the palette. — 9 years ago
Fans of Northern Rhone reds aught to dig this still youthful Santa Cruz interpretation. Cloves, black peppers, and smoky charcuterie notes are complemented by ripe red berries and positive acidity. Oak treatment is cleverly judged, allowing its sweet, grainy tannic structure to shine on the spicy finish. Drinkability and ageability combined. — 10 years ago
Absolutely delicious - unsuspecting due to aromatics of mosquito repellant. Slight minerality but absolutely delish....will drink again. Great interpretation of well done natural wine — 10 years ago
'07. Pretty great interpretation of a Rhone in Spain. — 11 years ago
2012 vintage. Bright and beautifully red berry scented, this elegant interpretation highlights roasted herbs and meaty additions. Medium-bodied, juicy and fresh, very dry and chalky with youthful tannins and positively tart fruit. Give it a few more years. — 12 years ago
A fantastic wine for desert. I always associated busuioaca de Bohotin with a low end wine. This interpretation of it proves wrong. It was a wonderful wine with our cake. — 13 years ago
2011 Barraco Zibibbo Sicilia IGT, only 13% alcohol, nose with aromatic herbs, a very dry interpretation of Zibibbo. — 13 years ago
Fresh blackberries, blueberries, dried oregano, dried thyme, graphite. Snapping rounded acidity/minimal smooth velvet tannin presence, juicy-silky texture, light-medium bodied, fruity-smoky finish. Highly aromatic, mineral driven, softer, more approachable interpretation of Dolcetto. Perfect weekday wine. — 9 years ago
Minerally Riesling aromas, slightly lactic. Thick California body but no artificial boost, internally not profound but likely hidden beneath the fat. Aromatic range is not wide but solid in the middle. Not long and resonant but immediately tactile. Masterly interpretation of 2014 vintage.
much improved on the third night, left open at room temperature, the surface aromas have evaporated and the mineral structure is evident, no sign of oxidation and strong foundation is very impressive. — 10 years ago
I really like this wine. What a nice interpretation of what is normally a blending grape, just great! Yum (and that is a wine term 😀). — 11 years ago
What I've become affectionate w/ this grape. A Luscious, viscous, high acid interpretation from '09.
10-24 yrs luscious justice availed to those whom have patience. — 12 years ago
Amazing interpretation of this Glera grape sparkling. By name and substance it's not a Prosecco, from calcareous soils on the Carso hills over Trieste. Dry, fresh, extremely long. Awesome wine! — 12 years ago
Dry interpretation of Valpolicella blend, soft tannins, cherry and velvet at taste. €6,00 at the winery (!!) — 13 years ago
Suprimely elegant interpretation. — 9 years ago
Always terrific. Always Gamay and always shows the terroir of St. Joseph so well, where these vines are grown. Huge granitic nose, spice, mineral and and overall impression of rocks. Palate is so juicy on this darker interpretation of Gamay. Big, ripe, fiercely tannic, yet fresh deep and balanced. Terrific tannic bite full of granite and fruit. Great wine. — 10 years ago
Very full bodied and complex with a French interpretation of the classic Malbec dominance. The French construction adds depth, complexity, finish and smooths or tempers the tendency of Malbec to be overly intense, but lacking in depth and complexity. A better "Malbec", in my view. — 10 years ago
I like the heavy weight interpretation of torrontes, someone had to, and Hobbs of course was up to the job. Great tropical fruit notes. — 11 years ago
(**) a richer interpretation of Glera yields lemon sponge cake with a frothy mousse — 11 years ago
Smart interpretation of a very popular grape, Schiava or Vernatsch. Transparent red color, wide sensations at taste of red fruits, salty acidity, and the long and funny to drink! — 13 years ago
A singularly delicious interpretation of Chardonnay. At once light and effusive with citrus-tinged flavors, this also had a serious side, showing mineral and subtle barrel tones. Very well balanced, ending with a gentle, tapering finish. — 13 years ago

A different interpretation of Verdicchio. Very Burgundian with mouth feel and oak treatment. — 9 years ago
