Holly was making bœuf Bourgogne so I figured this would be a really nice way to ease into our dinner party. Initially, this was a little awkward, “grape-y” and somewhat prickly on the tongue, what seemed like some secondary fermentation happening in the bottle. After about 15min, the faint fizz was gone and this opened into something rather nice! A touch of grape jelly, a bit carbonic...super primary...certainly a bit whimsical at this stage. This would probably benefit from some time in the cellar. — 7 years ago
Soft, easy to drink cab. Gift from holly. — 7 years ago
That's a yummy wine! Big plum, chocolate - super inky, Holly says it's soft, hmmm, our Tacoma friends say is has less twang, smooth, the 2005 for sure is smooth. This bottle of wine is for Holly's Dad - 74 today, but I think it's just for Holly! There is some cherry in this wine! The kitchen review board, Sean & Nadine, likes this wine - Kathy says a little smokey, agree with the plum flavor, lots of experts!!! Happy Birthday Jim! — 8 years ago

Impromptu dinner at Buvette with Holly. They had veal osso bucco on the menu so we went for this lovely Langhe Nebbiolo from De Forville. On the pop and pour, the tannin is mouth puckering but after about 20-30min of air, the tannins relax their grip a bit and this opens up for business. The fruit is fresh and pure; red and black fruits with some tar and minerals. Satisfyingly delicious and worked so well with the meal. Killer QPR for under $30. — 7 years ago
2013 vintage. Tulips, ripe cherries in tree, raspberry essence. Holly and spearmint apparently had a winter tryst under a spray of delicate cranberry blossom. Pickled strawberry and dry pinecone emerge from a smoky cave, there is a citrus whiff, from a nighttime grove ringed by oregano. Light mouthfeel with electric potential. Subtleties abound. Cranberry meets rolled, red apple skin, chewed leather, applewood chips, bitter cherry, dried rose petals and smoky, red saffron. #pinotnoir #oregonpinotnoir #sheavineyards #oregon #pinotparadise #noir #noirs #boedecker #pn #pinotweknow — 7 years ago
Pine nettle, dark rye, black pepper, dried mint, oregano, black plum, holly leaf, sweet straw, and dried black currant, aromatically. Lean, medium mouthfeel with a black olive texture and taste leading to, black plum and graphite, fresh cedar, silver, white pepper, flax seed, cinnamon wood, and pistachio husk. #washingtoncab #washingtonwine #washington #yakimavalley #yakima #bousheyvineyard #Artzvineyard #FallLineWinery #cabernetsaugvinon #cabernet #cab #wawine — 8 years ago
Pretty yummy wine, Holly thinks it's pretty light, I love it...it's a good out of the bottle blend. Would I buy it again, probably but there are a lot of wines out there and it's a WA 9, California 7...this wine is smooth like a hot knife through butter. — 9 years ago

Holly decided to make cassoulet so this seemed like it would be a fitting compliment. Well, I’m here to confirm that the pairing was sublime. I poured this into the decanter about three hours prior to the meal and it probably could have benefited from even more air as it continued to improve in the glass. Red fruits and Herbs de Provence on the nose. On the palate it was crunchy red fruits, minerals and spices. Years to go. Drink with patience or hold. — 7 years ago

Feeling nostalgic so took a trip down memory lane. Drank over 2 nights. On day 1 this was super tannic and not giving a whole lot, although you could tell this was going to be a special wine with time. Corked and put half back in the fridge. On day 2 - Holly Molly, firing on all cylinders! Beautiful rose petals, tar and bananas. Yes, bananas in a Barolo! Amazing vino! — 10 years ago
Dr. Owen Bargreen
Sourced from the Loess, Seven Hills, Holly Roller, Serra Pedace, Mill Creek Upland and Leonetti Old Block Vineyards, the red blend was aged for 22 months in French oak before bottling. The final blend is a smaller than usual portion of Cabernet Sauvignon (73%) and an unusually high portion of Malbec (22%) with just a touch of Cabernet Franc (5%). This wine needs a two hour decant before enjoying. Once aroused, this slowly unveils green bell pepper, blueberry compote, creme de cassis and sagebrush tones that fill this highly perfumed nose. The palate is decadent, revealing an exceedingly plush texture. With bright acidity and serious weight, the wine expresses copious dark fruits with sweet pipe tobacco, blueberry compote and dark chocolate shaving flavors. Seductive in its youth, this stunning new bottling will have an exceedingly long life ahead of it. Try to resist this beauty for at least another year. Drink 2020-2045- 97 — 6 years ago
