Don’t be fooled by its light color. This wine has bold flavor yet is very smooth and soft on the palate. — 7 years ago

Super soft for some reason. Lots of vanilla almost like it was really Napa Valley Oaked up which seems unlikely given large boti? — 7 years ago

Translucent cherry red. A spectacular nose. Black cherry, dried herbs and leather with a whiff of tobacco. Beautiful balance on the palate. Savory and bright. Quite lifted with a great, light intensity. Amazing. — 5 years ago

Beautiful drinking Giacosa that was floral & elegant showing red cherry, leather, sweet tobacco, licorice spice & rose petal. Fully mature that should drink well for many years — 7 years ago

What a beautiful wine. Surprisingly approachable and soft for a young Nebbiolo, while still showing the structure and harmony these wines are famous for. For the money, a 10! — 8 years ago

Soooooo great! Love it from the first sip. Just enough age on this one. Refreshing, singing acidity, a bit racy, but the freshness totally balances it out. Drinking wonderfully now! — 10 years ago

Aglianico del Vulture Aglianico 2013

— 5 years ago

Albesani Vigna Santo Stefano Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2000

BG barbaresco leads the pack. Round, rich, earthy, and full bodied. Great balance for the grape. Black cherry, cedar, and dried fruit. While not a top vintage, a benchmark that’s in its drinking window. St. Stephen will remain... — 6 years ago

Pleasantly surprised, but it definitely needed the right food. It was great with a gnocchi in Parmesan and Gorgonzola sauce. The bright acid cut through the rich cream sauce. Some roasted lamb brought out the herbaceous notes, and once again the lighter body and acid helped to balance the rich dish. It was strange that it paired horribly with a carbonara dish- something about the prosciutto made it musty tasting. I think the key to the enjoyment of this wine is the food pairing, so pair wisely! — 7 years ago
