Sperss Barolo Nebbiolo 2000

Lived up to all expectations. Decanted. Enjoyed over 5.5 hours. Other than a quick opening taste we sat in this for more than an hour before getting into it. Mature and complex. Lots of layers. Strong powerful aged fruit but still had plenty of elements of pop. Loved this! — a month ago

Barbaresco Nebbiolo

I had a bottle of this tonight at a restaurant in New York. It’s showed delicious notes of raspberries, violet, and some orange peel. It was a little bit open knit for such a young vintage, perhaps not as complex and structured as I would expect, which makes this a “drink now” proposition imo. — 6 days ago

Rennina Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2007

Solid wine. Cork fully intact. Decanted for about 1.5-2 hours. Good grip and mix of savory flavors. Fruit was not quite popping but reserved. Good with steak. — 23 days ago

Ca'Marcanda Promis Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2019

Smooth and gentle, with a prominent nose of crisp red fruit, somewhat dark, with strawberries, pencil shavings/graphite, with some notes of blood orange rind, maybe some coffee and a hint of vanilla and iron. Sorì San Lorenzo Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1982

Got 90% of the cork extracted before it broke because the last part stuck to the inside of the neck. Ended up decanting about 3 hours ago (through cheesecloth), but OMG, simply soaring dark fruits, floral, and lovely road tar as well, this is still somewhat primary fruit wise, but tannins and structure are now soft, supple and broad in its flavors, very long, lingering finish, great Cru Barbaresco!!! — a month ago
