Stunning nose of confectionary aromas, peach, lime zest, slate, slate dust, rock candy, lemon and more. So complex. Palate is epically juicy and so balanced. Perfect balance of sugar and acid. Sick tension. But also so nimble and waif like. But also very concentrated with flavors of peach flesh, tangerine, tangelo and kumquat. A genius wine that will unfold. I’ll be back. Been a year plus for this delicious oddball of a wine. Look at previous note for all the wacky grapes. Gorgeous deep red fruit. Cranberry bog, high toned red licorice and herbs. So deep and playful. Grapey and sappy with wonderful freshness and purity. So stoney and flavorful. Lots of fruit skins. Really glou like but also more. So much cranberry and red currant. Minty palate as well with lots of leafiness. Wonderful wine. Now after air a honeyed element and some gorgeous spice developing. — 7 months ago

Just as classic as it gets. A stunningly beautiful bottle of Spätlese. Nose is slate city. Green apple. Peach. Rainwater. Rubber. Lemon. Lime. So clean. Super juicy and clean but not over the top concentrated. Everything is in its little perfect place. Welcome to the Dollhouse 2 - Spätlese. (Don’t Google what that movie is about!). Its soaring aromas are mimicked on the palate with a soaring bit sublime perfection. This is not a dense, crazy wine, it’s a a perfect feather of a wine. This is what Spätlese used to be. Nose gets apple juice like with air but man if only apple juice smelled like this and not whatever the hell it smells like now. Lovely mid palate and just perfect but not aggressive acidity. My goodness this is clean and beautiful and just perfect for what it is. — 2 years ago

Glorious nose of cranberry bog, mid season cherries, spice, redcurrant and slate. Super aromas and also a light, lithe color. Wet earth and leaves and so very Pinot. Flowers. Rose petals. So so pretty. Precise and with unreal clarity. Palate is so lithe and elegant with gorgeous sweet mineral inflected fruit and such an amazing Pinot texture. Wow is this super elegant and pretty. Gorgeous 4d texture and so enveloping and haunting. Reminds me of Volnay. Gorgeous velvety and sweet tannins and stunning purity. This is elite wine and really has opened a bunch since I had it last. Long, persistent finish. 9.5 for now but might go up. Finish keeps getting longer. The spice is out of hand on the nose with air. Easily, Stefan’s most complete Pinot ever. So silky and elegant with gorgeously ripe tannins. Dense but nimble

Nose is now gorgeous on day 2 with unreal vivid cranberry, some underarm funk, slate and superb early season cherrie. Palate is silky and sweet with superb, nimble concentration and an elegant chewiness. Stunning cherry fruit and length. What a wine. Wow is this great — 5 months ago
