A mid cherry red in colour. Aromatics of red fruits, menthol and touches of tar and roses. Light to medium bodied on the palate - surprising for a Barolo with medium plus intensity. Different and interesting in a good vintage from an excellent producer. Next in a year. — 7 months ago

Medium ruby in color; plums, bell peppers, and paprika on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like raspberries, jalapeño, and wet slate with a long finish. It's a really interesting flavor. It's not for everyone, but well made. I like it. — 7 months ago

Stopped in a wine bar in Hiroshima Japan called Lemon Stand. They serve natural wine and tonight’s option is this Sassaia. Wonderful surprise with nice acidity. Notes of apricot and oak but still young. This wine is delicious with the salinity of Hiroshima oysters. — 23 days ago
