Enjoyed this one at small restaurant near Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence. — 3 years ago
Pale lemon with medium+ intensity aromas of stone, tropical and citrus fruits with vanilla oak, spice and bread notes. On the palate ripe apple, pear, melon, creamy lemon fruit flavors with notes of wet stone and warm vanilla oak, medium+ balance with vivid acidity. Long finish ending with nutty oak, baking spice and mineral notes. Very Good but can get better with some bottle age. — 4 years ago
So long since I’ve had a Rockpile wine and loved this!! Black and green pepper along with dark berries (raspberry and blackberry). An excellent jam flavor that just fits so well with bbq ribs. — 5 years ago
Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to the 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Went to a tasting, had ‘14 & ‘15 side by side. Very dark enticing red with concentrated aromas of dark fruits & earthy notes. Flavors of cherry & plum with tobacco and spice. Firm but approachable tannins, medium length ending with a bit of spice as the finish builds. Best to drink ‘14 now. Tasting Sample. — 7 years ago

It seems as though 2016 white Burgundy is starting to be coming around, whereas the vintage was once a bit awkward and often showed disjointed. ‘Micro’ Domaine Lamy-Caillat is really making fantastic wines and being so elusive, it was great to spot on the excellent list at Daniel. A gentle decant gives it the little kick that it needs to intensify its green apple and rich yellow fruit expression along with a spice tinged, saline and smoky mineral infliction. The palate shows great concentration, density and textural richness and the full bodied opulence of the La Romanée site is cut seamlessly by its zippy citrusy acid spine. Gimme more Lamy Caillat! — 4 years ago
Discrete nose of white fruit with pears and also a slight minty and smoke feel, very discrete. The palate is gorgeous, such balance between the perfect acidity and slight richness of fruit and elegance. Another great 2017 CDB. 90-91
Nez discret de poires et une touche de menthe et de fumée mais sans déranger. Le vin est délicieux, quel équilibre entre cette tension appuyée et cette richesse de fruit, juste parfait. Un autre beau blanc 2017. 90-91 + — 5 years ago
The 2nd GC White Burgundy of the day. Nose not giving much - a little closed and sadly the wine a bit cold. The palate a little more restrained and medium bodied than the Jacques Carillon. — 7 years ago
The estate dates back to the Crusades, and Scottish navigator, George Smith, the owner in the 18th century. He was followed by M. Duffour-Dubergier, Mayor of Bordeaux, and then Louis Eschenauer, a famous wine shipper. In 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard now own the estate. Dark plum red with dark berry fruit aromas, herb and spice from young Cab vines. On the palate complex sweet black fruit flavors and cacao notes. Firm tannins, rich and full, lingering, mineral ending, unlike the ‘10 wait a few years. — 8 years ago

Love it! Needs hours to open up, but the complexity it develops is in line with even the finest Châteauneuf-du-Pape red. — 7 years ago

The more air, the more lemon. Lovely wine. Complex, with mineral and touch of oak influence underlying the citrus. — 10 months ago
