Had another bottle, aged well. A neighbor of Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion, Les Carmes is positioned on the same bank. The name derives from the friars, known as ";Les Carmes"; who owned the property between the 16th & 18th century. This estate has been under new ownership since 2010. Predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in French oak, (33% new). Red fruit and currants on the nose. Raspberry and plum flavors fine tannins and lingering finish ending with mineral tones. Nice! — 9 years ago

In 2005 Marie and Frédéric Chauffray came across the perfect plot of land—25 acres on the plateau of Arboras in Terrasses du Larzac, situated in the Langeudoc. They sold the prestigious wine shop they owned outside Paris and embarked upon the dream of making wine, together founding Domaine de La Réserve d'O. Berry fruit and cacao notes. Cherry and mocha with spice and fine tannins. Lingering finish with ending with mineral notes. — 9 years ago

LOVE this one! Deliciously sweet but not an overpowering fruity taste. Definitely would by myself a bottle of this one. — 13 years ago
A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.
This wine is made by Michel Rolland. Large and in charge merlot. Mocha, sweet pipe tobacco, and a lot of ripe blackberry. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Cab lovers merlot. — 8 years ago
After two trips to Paso, I’ve visited quite a few wineries. Epoch is always top of my list. Great tasting experience at the winery and the wines are stellar. — 9 years ago
Tasted blind. Would not have tipped this to be a GC. Finish appeared way to short. A mark of infanticide perhaps? Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this wine. Gorgeous, far too pretty and effortless to be from Gevrey - probably the winemaker's intepretation of the terrior (higher climat?). Floral, super primary still, mineral tones. As the night progressed, the wine seemed to shut down. Oh well. I imagine this would be an astounding wine with time.
Note: CJ noted that this isn't a vineyard owned by the ladies. Fruit was shared with another producer. — 9 years ago

Top of our list for most beautiful wineries in Napa. Katherine loves the Red Rock Terrace (I'm a Volcanic Hill guy). This is the complete package! Tanin fruit acidity finish...age worthy forever! At 10 years old, this bottle is a baby. A big baby, but still could could another 20. — 9 years ago

Paul T, Missing My Beautiful Wife 24/7
Just picked a 3 pack of 13 Volcanic hill, I assume I Shouldn't open for awhile? This historic gracefully aged Cabernet Sauvignon although near the end of its prime still presents its beautiful complex and balanced character. Perfect Color, intriguing bouquet, savouring taste leaving a smooth lingering balance in your mouth. You will taste chocolate, berries and a wisp of oak that was well worth the 31 year wait. Although this vineyard is no longer owned by Joseph Phelps it remains a JPV classic. — 10 years ago
A big bad boy...needs time in cellar. Pretty nose and structure — 11 years ago
One of my favorite wineries. Period. — 11 years ago
Yeah ... the winery is owned by movie stars but it existed hundreds of years before they bought it. And, it's good! Maybe a bit pricey for a rosé, but it's yummy. — 12 years ago
Keller Vineyards, owned by the Keller family, located in Sonoma Coast. A big wine with fruit & earthy aromas. On the palate cherry & tart strawberry flavors with hints of vanilla & soft cedar, well balanced. Soft smooth tannins on medium finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Nice! — 8 years ago
Nice sweet refreshing red. — 8 years ago
Very good, drinkable and pleasant — 9 years ago
Benedetta knows how to make a great wine. This comes from a tiny family owned estate on the east side of the hill in Montalcino. Benedetta's father worked these vines for years before he saved up to buy them. They only make 13,000 bottles / year I believe. Think of their Super Tuscan starter /first course wine, the Rossi as the brother, and their Brunello as the "dad". Buy this bottle. — 9 years ago
Has to be one of my top 3 favorite Oregon wineries. Exquisite, ignore the pro ratings. — 9 years ago
Rediculously delicious bottle of pinot. And yes if Gary's name is on it, I buy it. Family owned Star market in Salinas has the best selection of local wine. Shared it with my girl Patrice and the waiter at our local in Malibu — 10 years ago

Fresh and crisp on the intake, round as it hits the back of the throat and a long graceful finish. One of our favorite ethical wineries, Solms Delta, this earthy wine is bright cherry rose. — 13 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Went to a tasting and they were featuring Chalk Hill, winery now owned by Bill Foley, of Foley Family Wines, who continues the traditions that Fred Furth, who founded CH in 1972. Had this ‘16 about a year ago. Rich deep straw color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits and citrus notes. On the palate ripe apple, sweet melon and lemon flavors with gentle vanilla toasty oak. Well balanced on lingering finish ending with oak and mineral notes. Aged well. Tasting Sample. — 8 years ago
