after a first reductive whiff there is pure and pristine lemon-like citrus with some green melon. The palate is where it’s at with smoky minerality and electric acidity — 4 years ago
If you’re not yet acquainted with fine Franconian Silvaner, you owe yourself the pleasure. Franken is a dry wine oriented region and the wines are as unique and characterful as their traditional flagon shaped bottles. Michael Fröhlich in Escherndorf is a top VDP grower in the top rated Lump. Fresh, clean, ripe, balanced “modern” style wines that clearly express their terroir, but almost any Franconian VDP grower will not disappoint. — 5 years ago

Now in a line up with Rebholz 15‘s and Schäfer Fröhlich 16’s this guy struggles. It needs some age and is currently in it’s dumb phase. More linear and less fruit than last time when I tried the wine. Elegant steely and light. Lime wintergreen and chalk. — 7 years ago
