Muscular strength and dark concentration - its noticeably different than their other wines due to the vineyard site, as well as the use of 100% new French Oak. Instead of being sourced from the main property where the white label cabernet is, the Reserve is sourced from their separate family estate on Ehlers lane, where it is on a bit higher elevation, on a free draining hill.

85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot - big, bold, dark, and intense - mocha, blackberry reduction, black pepper, chewy tannin.. definitely a little peppery on the nose but not overly to the point of being too much. Meant for some good ol' Cali BBQ tri-tip. — 6 years ago

Solid 2018 from Ehlers. This #sthelenacab is delicious and smooth. One of my favorites from Premiere Napa Valley 2020 #pnv20 #pnv2020 20 cases produced. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Ehlers’ organic estate vineyard, which produces wines of great distinction
Located in the north end of St. Helena, the vineyard is composed of very shallow, gravelly loam soils
The wine is unfined, unfiltered and is aging in 100% new French oak

This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Block 4 on our property which is our highest elevation block. The Cone See vines are planted in volcanic soil, the same profile found on Howell Mountain. Our vineyards have been farmed organically since 2005 and certified since 2008. This 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the best expressions of the estate - rich in tannins and color, aromas of boysenberry, raspberry jam and forest floor herbs promise the potential of getting better in the years to come.
