I really enjoyed this after open for just an hour. A little light, so great on its own.

Eccentric white wine, apples and lime, drank with oysters — 4 years ago
Big fruity boozy thing. Pretty good, but I'd prefer a bit more complexity. — 3 months ago
The 2020 Grenache Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard is airy, gracious and ethereal. Sweet dried cherry fruit, tobacco, leather, spice and rosewater give the 2020 its eccentric feel. The aromatics are especially vibrant owing to healthy amount of whole clusters. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2022)

This wine is great;
First I get citrusy almost orangey taste. It bleeds into florals and then has a very smooth woody taste.
The smell is wonderful, very aromatic and a pit pungent after being open and resting for 6 hours. At first was very floral and smooth, still very good but now it has a sharper smell while still holding its original aromatic composition. One of my favorite wines.
I was told at Les Caves Du Louvre it is only sold on one store in France, so I’m very fortunate to have found this particular bottle. I was also told the maker of this wine is very creative, artistic, charismatic, passionate, unique and eccentric which makes me have an even closer bond with this wine. Will definitely buy a bottle before leaving. Would love to visit this winery eventually. — 8 months ago
Aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf, black currant and a little vanillin oak. Medium weight palate but medium plus intensity. Classical Cabernet descriptors on nose and palate. An excellent Yarra Valley Cabernet in a district that many say is best suited to Cabernet even though there is good Pinot and Chardonnay as well. This was the last vintage made by the legendary founder of YY, Dr Bailey Carrodus, before he passed. The good Dr was somewhat of an eccentric giving his wines names like Dry Red No 1, No 2 and No 3 as well as an excellent Pinot Noir. This No 1 ( always a Bordeaux blend) is 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot. Bailey never entered his wines in regional shows. If he had there would have been a string of medals and Trophies but he would sell out anyway. The brand carries on brilliantly these days with winemaker Sarah Crowe. — 3 years ago
