2015 vintage. Tasted the 2023 version two days ago (9.4). Massive fruit and acidity and built for the long haul. So too, was this effort. Decanted and tasted after an hour at approx 62 degrees. Blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, deep inky red color with aromas of ripe berry fruits and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of black raspberry, ripe cherry and blackberry with black pepper, cacao and earth notes, vivid acidity nice structure. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and spice character. Good now will still cellar. — a year ago

Bold, powerful, and concentrated old style Chateauneuf. Abundance of ripe red fruit, raspberry, currants, garrigue, and licorice with subtle notes of tobacco on the lingering finish. Fruit was aged in tank and concrete for 18 months (although the Syrah sees a bit of neutral oak). The ABV is 15% but is well balanced with the concentrated fruit and soft tannins and great structure.
