Came across a 2007 Chassagne-Montrachet at my local shop. He tells me: “I sell low price because nobody has interest in it”. Knowing what these vintages go for and how well they can drink, I instantly jumped on the chance. I am proud to have found this hidden gem because this year was sensationally rich, surprisingly lower acidity than expected, and just a wonderful experience. As the wine sits on the palate, it just continues to grow and compliment itself. I instantly called the owner and had him hold the remaining 3 bottles for me. What a wine!! — 4 months ago
NOSE: mild, cooked fruit, a little carob. Inoffensive but not especially inviting.
TASTE: cooking spices, chicory, ash, a little bitter —unsweetened minerally dark chocolate - red fruit barely present and dried. Very balanced and elegant. This is going to kill with the herb roasted chicken I’m about to eat. 91. — 7 months ago

Chardonnay was crisp and had citrus favor of apples and pears. I usually don’t like Chardonnay as it’s too oaky for me, but this is un-Oaked. Went well with cheese and a roast chicken for an afternoon meal! I would buy again — 4 years ago

Nose has ripe cherry, cedar++, charcoal, grilled black cherry, faint olive and over-ripe blackberry.
Palate has dried cherry/blackberry, tobacco, strawberry, vanilla, dried mint, leather with medium+ tannins and plenty of acidity to hold for decades.
Epic, even besting the 1968 & 1995 for my palate!

Dry at first but the buttery-ness comes through immediately. Hints of peach and toffee apple. Delish. — 4 years ago

Not sure when degorged but superb bubbles and that old-school Giraud FdC nose that’s been lost in recent years and their cuvee insanity. Wish I had more of this, last bottle and pretty rare retail-wise now. — 3 years ago
