Mature red cherry aromas and flavors, good balance, still can be aged further, just starting to show sweet fruit notes in the medium-long finish, lovely. — 7 years ago
No detailed notes as we were at dinner with friends. Three Somm’s present for dinner and all thought this was wine of the night. I was one of them.
I believe their 15 is even better than their fantastic 2010.
If you are not familiar with this producer & terroir, I highly recommend you do. It remains under most consumers radar. I should probably stay silent on it as it will only drive up demand and price. But, good wine is meant to be shared with people who know how to appreciate it. This is around $55 on pre-arrival and $70ish if not bought on pre-arrival.
Olivier Lamy left the family Domaine to learn from other producers before returning to his family Domaine. He made Méo-Camuzet for few years just before his return.
The body was thick and slightly waxy. Nice green apple, pineapple, lime, honeysuckle, fruit blossoms with excellent round acidity, texture, elegant and well polished finish.
Recommend you slightly over chill it and decant it for an hour if you drink it this young. After it hour, it really blossoms.

Fabulous. Just delicious — 8 years ago
Stunning 98 right bank. These 98s from st emilion seem to be firing on all cylinders. Had this beauty with stuffed rabbit at jardiniere while celebrating my moms 70th birthday. It had loads of beautiful fruit, some rose petal / violet and just enough earth to make it really interesting. We finished the bottle in literally no time. Excellent!!!!! — 9 years ago
Lemon zest and pear on the nose with a slight hint of honeysuckle. Slightly creamy and off dry on the palate with a nice mineral finish — 10 years ago
When enough isn't quite enough! Needs a few more years, but what the hell, sometimes you just need to kill a baby! #saintjoseph #jlchave #sommselect — 11 years ago
A gift of friends willing to share an incredibly beautiful wine. No food, just 2000 Clos Saint-Denis. — 13 years ago
DAY 1
👃Perfumed orange florals, peppery lemon & minerals
👅More pretty & less intense than many PYCMs. Palate is medium bodied. Not totally dry
Remaing wine Slow Decanted in my refrigerator
DAY 14
Change in character vs Day 1. The subtle fruit has been shrouded by intense minerality
👅Flinty, smoky minerality with just enough lemon fruit. Nicely salty. Long bold and distinctly dry finish
Quite different on the 2 occasions. It was more delicate and very nice on Day 1 but I preferred the intensity & minerality that had developed by Day 14💕🥂

This was the best Pibarnon and one of the best Bandols I’ve had - decanting filled the room with a startling and wonderful aroma of blueberry pie. There was more in the glass, with meat and earth, too. Just like the recent 2004 Pallieres, these classically made Southern French wines just need enough time. I haven’t bought much from these areas lately, but these bottles are making me rethink that. — 6 years ago
Bought at Nicolas rue de Saint Dominique. The most close I am looking for a full-time bodied wine, but not very complex — 7 years ago
This is the second wine of Cos d’ Estournel, Les Pagodes De Cos. I find it’s a good idea not only to buy first wines of Bordeaux in good vintages but, also buy the hell out of 2nd wines of good producers as it’s a close relative of their first wine for a lot less money 💰. 2005 was a marquee vintage in Bordeaux.
On the nose, ripe; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, baked strawberries and notes of blackberries. Black cherry cola, saddle-wood, limestone minerals, graphite, crushed, dry rocks, stones, hints of; vanilla, clove & very light cinnamon. Dark rich soil, dry stones, anise, fresh & dry red and dark flowers.
The body is not quite full. The tannins are round, soft and well resolved, 65%. The structure, tension, length and balance are peaking. Ripe & slight ruby; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum, black raspberries, baked strawberries and notes of blackberries. Black cherry cola, saddle-wood, dark spice, dry stems, mint, limestone minerals, slightly moist clay, graphite, charcoal ash, crushed, dry rocks, stones, tobacco with ash, hints of; vanilla, clove & very light cinnamon. Dark rich soil, dry stones, anise, fresh & dry red and dark flowers. The acidity is quite nice. The long finish is; ripe & ruby, elegant, well polished & balanced and lasts minutes.
It’s just short of its peak and will drink well for another 8–10 years.

2016. Best under $20 bottle I’ve had in ages. — 8 years ago
Just an excellent Bordeaux bottle I would recommend to anyone who wants a classic red from the region. I absolutely loved it with Ribeye steak in Munich! — 8 years ago
Barrel Sample. Just like I said last year when I first tasted this, this is the real deal for Pavie. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the very best from Pavie in the entire Perse regime. If you see it offered, it really is something special. — 9 years ago
Solid but not spectacular, a wonderful bouquet of Bordeaux that helped make a dinner in Cannes just that more respectable. Blackberry and black currant, spices, herbs and minerals, the wine has its gift of terroir but not overly complex or mind blowing. A good wine if the price is right. — 10 years ago
2011. Just some delicious juice. So easy to drink. Thank you 11 Madison! — 12 years ago
This wine embodies everything I love about French wine. So balanced, so damn elegant. Mmm!!!! (Thanks Ted) — 13 years ago
Prieure Saint-Hippolyte - Languedoc - Blanc
50% Grenache Blanc, 25% Viognier, 25% Vermentino
Nice fresh fruit, dry, Peach, pear, floral, wax, stones.
Not the biggest, baddest, longest aging wine ever, but... a very well made Languedoc Blanc to be enjoyed now, under $15.
Guessing 11-12.5% ABV (label range 11-14), went nicely with an omelette dinner.

Really well done, great density of flavor, bit surprised by such rugged tannins, intensely dark brooding & opaque with ripe cherry & tomato vine, crushed stone & minerals, violets & spice, this layered rascal just kept showing more and more... stood up to lamb like a champ! — 8 years ago
This is just lovely with hints of black cherry and plum with creosote, black pepper and soy accents. Palate is full of spicy Syrah flavors with lots of white pepper, plum and black raspberry. Tannins are present but sauve with lifting acidity. Just a great level of balance on the earth driven finish. — 8 years ago
This Anjou Saumur is a character heavy floral white. Took me a minute to appreciate and undetstand it but once I got there, I was impressed. — 8 years ago
Just gets better... drink slowly... great finish. — 9 years ago
This 2013 is really well balanced. Of course we can't compare with the amazing 2009 and 2010 but this wine is very fruity strawberry blackcurrant and liquorice. Enjoyable from now and for the next 15 years. It reminds me off the 2007 which was criticised and nowadays nobody is able to recognise this vintage blind according the fact that it is just delicious.
2013 shows us that Lagrange is a Chateau who produce every year very consistent Wine.
No bad vintages just a different window of tasting. .. one of the best value for money in Bordeaux 2013 — 10 years ago
1970 - Seems just right now. — 11 years ago
Great Nuits. Red fruits (cranberry/cherry), touch of earth and herbs and just a hint of oak. On the palate add a touch of sweetness and sauvage that is well balanced and focused. — 13 years ago

This was a real stunner. Deep red color (no bricking at all) Ripe red fruits on the nose with signature charcoal, tobacco, cedar and spice. Fully resolved tannins. Soft and supple and just delicious. This still has a ton of life left — 4 years ago
