This is a beautiful wine! Very Chablis in presentation! Loads of stone fruits...white flowers...acidity is awesome..with generous salinity to coat your palate! I am enjoying this a bit chilled but not enough that the glass looks cold. Thank you @Ron R and @Anne-marie Beausejour for a nice recommendation! π β 6 years ago
Date night with Anne-Marie. We were introduced to this wine by @Martin G Rivard. So consistent, and in our opinion, under the radar. Lovely poise and balance, with restrained power. Loving this and my wife tonight. β 6 years ago

The man, the myth, the legend (Mike Smith, with his wife) decided to throw us a bone and grace our dinner. How cool is that?
This wine is so complete. A meal on its own. Black as the night in the glass. Nose displays maple syrup and a hint of balsam. Huge mouthfeel, with a teeth-staining extraction. So plush and sweet. Still very primary, more bottle age will take this to an even better place. Anne-Marie (my wife) in the middle. From magnum. β 7 years ago

Attended a virtual tasting with Anne Parent, winemaker for Domaine Parent. The Domaine started making wine back in the 17th century. Many thanks to my good friend @Mike R for setting it all up.
What makes this wine special (aside from the fact that itβs only produced in special years) is the fact that itβs not a typical Bourgogne...70% of this wine comes from the Village of Pommard (70+yr old vines) and 30% of this wine comes from premiers crus vineyards. Clearly a step up from most producers typical Bourgogne, which is a massive amalgamation of fruit. A true testament to Domaine Parent and the threshold for quality.
30min decant and then followed it over the next two hours. Beautiful out of the gate, with so much floral and spice aromatics. Potpourri, spiced rhubarb, dried cranberries, fleshy black cherries, black tea herbal nuances and a brief sweet note of brown sugar. Fairly mellow and plush on the palate with classic underbrush, typical Pommard dried red and black fruits, and a tart, energetic and delicious finish. Nothing thin or overly herbal here. Like a Rivers-Marie Sonoma Coast with more restraint. Wonderful QPR. β 5 years ago
Date Night - A tremendous gift from @Martin G Rivard! Actually, I kind of begged him for this as Anne-Marie loved the wine. Just like toilet tissue, this wine is on a roll!
Reminds me of roasted chestnuts, cinnamon and cut flowers on the nose. Palate is perfectly balanced, and multi-layered. Nice display of maraschino cherries and hints maple syrup. Tannins are perfectly poised. Acid is in check. Primo... β 6 years ago

LOVE this Chardonnay. To me, it was like Goldilocks: not too this, not too that - just right...thereβs oak, but not too much, thereβs acid, but not too much, thereβs fruit, but not too much, itβs Cali but not too much, itβs Burg, but not too much...you get the idea. I think this has broad appeal (except if you only like a βSteelβ Chard). Paired so well with truffle pizza and then a lemon (!) pizza.
Completely new to me so thank you @Ron R @Anne-marie Beausejour for sharing this gem with us! β 7 years ago

When Anne-Marie tasted this, she was in raptures - @Martin G Rivard, thank you so much for this gem!
Huge extraction, ultra rich presentation. The nose is dominated with maraschino cherries, blueberry jam, and a whiff of talcum powder.
The palette is stunning. Dense and in-your-face. Tannins keep pumping. This exemplar presented so well. A head-spinner. Thanks so much, Martin!!! β 8 years ago

Really Really great Sauvignon Blanc! Perfect balance of fruit and acidity.. Alc. 14.5% ..not sure where it is...coats your mouth like candy. ππ.

@Anne-marie Beausejour ...great recommendation! β 5 years ago
Storming @Mike R and Rhondaβs cellar, which is broad and deep. First time trying this, and @Anne-marie Beausejour and I are in love. Excellent showing. Texture, layers and a pristine tannic structure, make this a near perfect wine. Stunning. Thank you Mike and Rhonda! β 6 years ago
Amazing! Got the bottle directly from the family! Their wine is really spectacular and it is family owned! β 6 years ago
Anne-Marie rated this 92, I gave it 90, so we split the difference. Notes of guava and white melon on the nose. Delicate notes of passion fruit and honeysuckle on the palate. Inoffensive, but lacks a little character and complexity. Having said that, it doesnβt cost a kingβs ransom, so, net net, itβs a buy. We purchased this on allocation, so, very pleased with the outcome

So, Anne-Marie wanted a rescue dog, and after two weeks, I require a rescue. He goes by Miller, and heβs a little Jeckel and Hyde, but every day we see forward progress. He likes Napa cabs, particularly Outpost. Millerβs notes were that this 16 is drum-tight. Nose presents coffee, spice box and overripe black fruits. The palate goes on for dog πΆ days, woof! The finish is intense, tannic and ripe. Do I detect a smidge of Pup-Perroni doggy treats? πΆ β 5 years ago
