The Vinho Verde wine has an herbal and citrus nose and a pleasing yellow-gold tint. The citrus plays a leading role on the palate, but is nearly upstaged by a delightful savory aspect. It’s a nuts-and-fennel feel that wows during the sip and long after.

Certainly a very good vintage. Just never overly embraced Dom. But this is nice, beautiful in fact.

The entry is soft & even subtle. Lemon pulp, lime pulp w/ some zest, orange citrus blend, just ripe pineapple flesh, mango, green tropical melon, under ripe cantaloupe, whipped cream, soft/light white spice, sea spray, excellent, crumbled to powdery, dry chalkiness, lightly yeasty, bread dough to baguette crust, grey volcanics, limestone, hints of fresh & dry herbs, yellow lilies, spring flower & jasmine, excellent, soft acidity with a well balanced, gentle structure & tensioned, superbly elegant & smartly polished finish that lasts 90 seconds and land on fruit and gentle volcanics.

Medium straw yellow , continuous fine bubbles . Quite toasty notes , with brioche , lemon confit and crushed rocks . On the palate quite a lot of brioche , lemon confit and mineral hints . Quite good length and intensity , good fresh chalky acidity . Still pretty young and probably holding back quite a bit today . Four day weekend. Gotta get it off to a good start. Been awhile since we had our 375ml of Ruinart.

The nose shows, ripe, slightly candied; black cherries, strawberries, kirsch cherries, rich, summertime watermelon, touch of orange citrus family blend, pomegranate juice, hints of fruit roll up & haunting apricots. Sea fossils & spray, a little bread dough, grey volcanics, chalky powder, orange, spring flowers with fresh & withering, red & pink rose pedals.

The palate is full & touch gummy/candied. Fruits are well extracted, deep, ruby; black cherries, blackberries, strawberries, kirsch cherries, rich, summertime watermelon, touch of orange citrus family blend, pomegranate juice, hints of fruit roll up & haunting apricots. Ghostly, not quite fruit brandy or fruit liqueur character, sea fossils & spray, a little bread dough, not quite medium, white spice with hints of palate heat, grainy, grey volcanics, chalky powder, orange, spring flowers with fresh & withering, red & pink rose pedals. The acidity lively and crisp. The round, well balanced & polish finish is always consistently satisfying and lingers for minutes.
