Yellow slightly with green. Viscosity. Herbaceous. Citrus juicy. Fresh. Crispy. Salty Minerals. Gruner Veltliner Federspiel Ried Kollmitz Domane Wachau 21 @2838, Toscan, 240713-240714 — a year ago
Dry & lovely. Winter fruit, savory herbs, granite. Was beautiful with fresh baked bread dipped in evoo with chopped olives, balsamic, & herbs. — 2 years ago
So pure, poised & perfumed - restrained yet so fine. Fresh. Crunchy light cherries, wild strawberries, wet moss, fresh sappy tree bark, a enticing whiff of violets. After some time some wet rocky minerality emerges.
On the palate this is rather light yet with presence, depth & purity. Amazing energy. Fresh, elegant & poised. The tannins are grippy but so finely polished & juicy. Cool, light footed, so juicy.
Wow. This is a really fine wine! — 4 years ago
This is the Smaragd. Star bright yellow gold. Abundant nose of yellow apple and stony white flowers. Echoed on the medium light palate adding white pepper and citrus rind. Throw in firm acidity and it’s an excellent wine for a wide range of foods; especially appropriate with pork or seafood dishes. Drink now or hold through 2029. — 5 years ago
Pale-yellow color. Pink grapefruit, a lot of petrol notes, pear. Medium-bodied, crispy acidity, a little oily, green apple and pink grapefruit as well. Pairing for grilled mushrooms, vegetables and pork. — 5 years ago
Fortified gruner with gruner brandy, ripe with great fruit, balanced acidity. Apples, pear and peach — 6 years ago
Second evening in Austria. The nose is pretty typical, with lemon, lemon zest, some flowery touches and a tiny petrol touch. The palate is acid driven, there are some nice lemon and zesty touches all along, some more width in the mid palate before a moderately long finish with lemon and lemon zest. Simple yet delicious. Not as laser focused as German Riesling expressions, but a bit lovelier, more gentle. Good stuff — 9 months ago

Beautiful Grüner, green apple, lemon peel on the nose. It has great acidity and aline aftertaste. — 3 years ago
Medium (+) intense aromas of lemon juice and lime, ripe pears followed by tropical aromas of pineapple, fresh aromatic herbs and a Pronounced and refreshing wet stone minerality.
Dry with a high acidity, Pronounced flacour intensity with a dense concentration with characters of lime juice, Peaches, lemon Grass and a salty minerality, vibrant acidity cuts the fruit and brings nerve and energy throughout a medium lenght finish. — 5 years ago
Vintage 2023 | I almost never drink a glass of wine just by itself… but always at dinner. My wine friends critize me if I state: this is a dinnerwine to eat with. They say: wine must be good by itself, Peter. I advocate that wine tastes much better with food. This grüner veltliner is kind of middle of the road (at this moment) when you drink it by itself. We combined it with a baguette with goose rillettes. Like opening the himmel/heaven a bit. 😝 — 9 months ago
Powerful and strongly acidic. Liquid minerals and citrus. Could easily age for 10+ years. — 2 years ago
Green apple, lemon, mandarin orange and pear. — 3 years ago

Still perfect. — 5 years ago
For me this ticks all the boxes for good quality GV. It's fresh, pure, varietally accurste with the nice peppery bite on the end. This has slight sweetness from the fruit that might not fit the purist view but for.me it just makes this more food friendly. Good stuff! — 5 years ago

Vintage 2001 | my oh my. 24 years old. We tend to drink grüner veltliner young but there is no need to do so. @Rob van Kalmthout said the advice is to drink between 3-5 years or after 15 years and longer. I saw many happy faces with this wine. Flint and spicyness. I smelled chestnut champignons. Dill. And also creamy butter. Vitality, rich, beautiful rondeur. Fantastic. — 9 months ago
