Coteaux Cornas Syrah 2016

Blackcurrant and leather notes. Very savoury on the palate - a little disappointing to be honest. See previous Delectable note. I haven’t had a lot of experience with Cornas and was looking forward to this because of its stellar reputation. I have a reasonable collection of Clape Cornas in my cellar which are not ready to drink yet. To be honest this was a bit underwhelming compared to many stellar Shiraz we are lucky enough to have in Australia. Hopefully the Clape, the Rostaing and the Jamet with time in my cellar will be impressive. — 23 days ago

I love Cornas but generally am not a huge fan of this house.

Rouge-Gorge Coteaux Du Loir Pineau d'Aunis 2022

This was a by-the-glass favorite at the Loire property where we stayed. Biodynamic Pinot d’Aunis. Lots of wild red berries complicated by earthy, peppery and floral tones — 3 months ago

Cuvée des Grands Côtés Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Coteaux Champenois Ambonnay Pinot Noir 2012

No doubt the finest Coteaux in all of Champagne, it’s particularly special to find this wine with some bottle age. From south facing 60+ year old vines in Ambonnay, 2012 is showing beautifully, drinking like a top notch red burg, perfumed, silky and pure with soft tannins and saline-mineral inflicted finale. Special wine. — 2 months ago
