Near perfect. Smokey, Earthy, Spicy & Smooth as can be. One of, if not the best Tempranillo I've ever tasted. — 9 years ago
Good black cherry fruit with some earth and moderate tannins. I had it on its own, but it would be good with a hearty meat dish.

Very nice, in an Austrian Restaurant in Berlin with MB's cousins Maria and Veronika. — 10 years ago
1955 Convento. Lovely nose. Intense in every respect. Super sweet but complex. Not showing the green nuttiness some old PXs have. — 11 years ago
Dry and good with manchego. — 11 years ago

Strong alentejo wine but fruity — 12 years ago
A rare bargain from the Ribera del Duero, the '11 Convento Las Claras Tempranillo definitely delivered a big bang for the buck. The deep purple wine exhibited cigar box, graphite, espresso and blackberry aromas. It was extremely ripe, but balanced. Finished nicely. — 13 years ago
Vanilla. Spicy. Tanin.. Bodegar Puerto Rico. — 8 years ago
Very well balanced. Good fruit. Mellow tannins. A little oak. But very well done. You won't be disappointed. — 9 years ago

Love this wine! — 10 years ago
1946 Convento. Over the top. Complex with butterscotch, hard lemon candy, chocolate. Smooth. However a bit dried out compared to the 1955, which is fresher. Very sweet syrupy wine. Hard to drink more than an ounce. — 11 years ago
Crisp and dry. Nicely refreshing. — 11 years ago

Another great local red at wine tasting at Convento do Espinheiro. Bought a bottle! — 11 years ago
Brown sugar and molasses really, it smells potent but light tasting smooth. So different from a banyul or maury. Really like it. Not even close to the other italian sweet reds I've tried. — 12 years ago
