Opened just prior to service; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. As far as I know, this was the first commercially released vintage of La Fleur de Boüard but others may be able to confirm or deny that. The 2000 pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruits: back plums, cassis, pipe tobacco, Flintstones vitamins, purple flowers, dried green herbs organic earth and fine baking spices. “Yabba dabba doo!” On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Gosh, this is in a really lovely place right now; very well balanced! Thank Andy! Drink now through 2040. — a year ago

Impossible de retrouver le terroir du jura, c'est très bourguignon et vraiment délicieux! On peut penser à un beau blanc de la côte châlonnaise. — 9 years ago

On the nose is blueberry, plum and dark berries and dark cherry. On the palate medium body, soft tannins, and currant which fades into a very long, nice blueberry finish. — 11 years ago

The 2016 Château Marquis d’Alesme hasn’t budged a bit since I last tasted it around four years ago. It remains a stoic, savoury Margaux with a herbaceous character and underlying inky, tangy fruit. It’s still quite shy, scarcely changing on the second night, and probably much too young still for enjoying.
Back goes the case with a big ‘do not touch’ stamp – probably for another four years.
