2010 vintage. A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in barriques. Dark colour. Oaky nose with jammy fruit in the background. Powerful and monolithic, lacks finesse. Overextracted, and therefore not my cup of tea. Still decent value at less than 20 euro if you like this style.

Seriously underwhelmed by this wine. Nose very tight but showing traces of dark fruit and perhaps a whiff of menthol or eucalyptus. One dimensional odd-tasting dark fruit with firm tannins, thin middle and very short finish. It wasn't pleasant to drink with or without food. Never tasted this wine before so no frame of reference. Potentially corked but not yet showing TCA?

I wish I could see JR vs RP tasting this wine blind and totally disagree like they did with chateau Pavie. Mix reviews but I feel that under $25 is still a descendent wine.

It's a wine that you either love or hate. My husband is in the love side giving this wine 90 Pts. I am on the hate side as I find it cooked and off balance so to balance his high score, I am giving it 70 Pts. Averages out to 80 Pts. :)

80/20 Merlot to Cab Franc. Really, really nice. Pleasantly surprised.

Really drinking well and not showing its age. 80 Merlot 20 Cab Franc. Still a lot red and black fruit, crisp acidity and well integrated tannins.

80% merlot, 20% Cabernet franc. Medium bodied, stewed dark fruits (mixed cherries, plum, blackberries), followed by moderate minerality, earthiness and tart acidity. The flavour is quite uniform, not a lot of complexity under the hood. A good wine, but not with the price ($45).

Oh dear, this is not my cup of tea at all. The wine seemed to be in good condition, vibrant colour and early promise on the nose but surely the weirdest palate I’ve ever tasted. I couldn’t get past one glass, tried decanting and no better. I can only describe the flavour as a combination of blood, metal and feet with some aniseed thrown in for good measure. Down the sink I’m afraid.
