Château Trotanoy

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Delectable Wine
9.4

The 2014 Trotanoy has a more complex bouquet than the 2014 Gazin, with more Pomerol DNA in the mix, iron-tinged red berry fruit, black truffle and cedar. Fine delineation and quintessentially Pomerol. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and harmonious, soy-tinged black fruit with white pepper sprinkled over the finish. This has personality and class but needs time (comme d'habitude). One of the standouts in what is an inconsistent Pomerol vintage. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. Château Du Gazin

Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Enough age to bring the fruit intensity down a notch, & man that’s some good fruit- emphasis on the cassis & blackberries. Usually not a mega fan of Bordeaux, but this fit the bill for a shared bottle with friends, drink outside on the banks of the Hudson. — 5 months ago

Château Lafleur

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

1985! Drank over 3 hours, the earth and leather was dominant, with dark berry fruits and a hint of cinnamon; beautiful drinking experience how it changed over the the few hours ; got much more mushroomy as the night went on; soft and not tannic; — 17 days ago

Château Lafleur-Gazin

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

Pyrazene, just ripe black cassis, mint and ash, deep lavender leaf, soft & smooth & round. Creamy vanilla on the finish. Very structured - grippy tannins on the finish too — 5 months ago

Château Gazin Rocquencourt

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Château Lafleur

Grand Village Acte 9 2016

Well it’s the Acte 8, but that’s close to 9😉 in this price range it’s for me a steal. From a winemaking dreamteam comes this great bottle full of excellent wine, full bodied and fleshy stuff. Cool tannins and a bright future, if you find it just buy it and consider yourself lucky. — 3 months ago

Bernard Burgaud

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2021

Lyle Fass
9.7

I love 21. Utterly classic but young nose of red berries, granite and a youthful grapiness. Some florals as well but a bit of a monolith aromatically out of the gates. More notes later as it opens up on the nose. Palate is so elegant my goodness and has that youthful grapiness. Huge red and darker berry fruit, perfect balance, clarity and purity. So juicy and clean but young but obviously very high quality. More notes as it evolves. Nose now closed at 3 hours but palate has gained finesse and it’s ultra juicy and pure. Finish is clipped but this is the whole package. This has a semi opulent midpalate one can get lost in. Wow. Incredible decadent Pomerol (lafleur?) fruit. Just insane. So elegant. This is the best Burgaud ever. — 5 months ago
