Dry on the palate with mild complexity.

Showing red and black fruits with light earth, spices, tobacco, plums, chocolates and black pepper.

Tangy finish with raspberries and fine grained tannins.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

Showing good structure, with nice balance.

I had the 2016 a couple of years ago and it is very consistent.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food.

A blend of 95% Merlot and the rest is Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

14% alcohol by volume.

2015 vintage. A very fine Castillon by Denis Durantou ( of Eglise-Clinet fame). Better the second day, so you might want to decant. Totally outperforming stablemate Les Cruzelles ( Lalande de Pomerol), tasted alongside. Good red fruit concentration, balancing the typical Castillon chalkiness. 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.Abv. 14,5% — 5 months ago

This Castillion Chateau was acquired by the late Denis Durantou of L'Eglise Clinet roughly 15 years ago. Just as promised it delivers excellent value. Damp earth, currants, plums, black truffle and some green notes. Very solid. Would buy again. 2019 is the last vintage Monsieur Darantou harvested. — 2 years ago
