If you think there's a better wine for a warm summer day, please tell me immediately. This is how I like whites - decent, dry apple/citrus fruitiness with a crisp finish and a little zest hanging around to keep you interested. Oh, and this thing has a little bubbles to it! Maybe half as much as your average prosecco (or even less) but definitely a little carbonation for a little extra texture. Wish I had discovered this earlier! Drank while finishing up some late work on a Friday and before going out for the night, but this would work equally as well at 2:30pm hanging out under an umbrella near a pool.
Do yourself a favor and Google/Wikipedia the origination of this wine, if they can ever increase production it's going to displace the generic proseccos and cavas of the U.S. market. — 8 years ago
persimmon on the nose and finish — 4 months ago
Pretty deep ruby garnet with garnet , terracotta . Quite sweet , spiced , dried fruit nose , slightly volatile nose . On the palate this is better , meaty and rich spiced dried dark fruits, plum , fig. Quite grippy tannins and balanced acidity . Good density and rich meaty finish , a little porty, pretty good length . Dense and rich , much more than expected . Still dense and really quite young, held up well in the glass , this would probably continue at this level for a further 5-10 years . — 2 years ago

Elegant and rich apple-flavored Chardonnay. Delicious and the best Pouilly-Fuisse I have had. It also has a great nutty flavor. No butter or toast flavors. Very clean and bright. — 7 years ago

V14. Doesn't get much better than this. Wonderful harmony of aromas and taste. Soft toasty nose. Creamy Fresh pear fruit, with hints of honey dew and Meyer lemon. Crisp, flinty finish. — 8 years ago
Medium light lemon yellow core , touch of green on the rim . Quite generously fruited on the nose , with ripe citrus, white peach , touch of apricot , honeysuckle . Quite rounded and fruited on the palate as well , with apricot , white peach , fresh pineapple , citrus and some creamy notes . Quite fresh acidity but a rounded mouthfeel . Reasonable white fruited finish , touch of creamy richness but balanced freshness. Drinking well now and will continue to do so over the next 5-8 years. — 8 months ago
Birthday wine at dinner party! Lighter than I expected — 3 years ago
Les Ménétrières is a one-hectare, southeast-facing vineyard with one third of the vines 40-years-old, one third 20-years, and a third are 10-years which are planted on shale in the upper half of the vineyard and pearly slabs in the lower half. The soils here are composed of alluvial deposits, layered with a sub-soil consisting of limestone and limestone marl streaks, with top layers rich in stone-free limestone deposits and light marls. These mineral rich soils greatly reflect in the 2012, which shows gorgeous streaks of minerality woven together with stunning aromas of Asian pear, white peach, lemon zest, almond, smoke, saline and a spicy floral character. It continues to impress as it expands on the palate with its lovely oily texture, which is beautifully cut by wonderful acidity that carries on through the delicious, mineral laced finish. Today, the Les Ménétrières seems to be the most complete and compelling wine I have tasted from the Domaine in this vintage. It is already showing tons of character and I only expect it to further evolve in the bottle — 7 years ago
