The nose is a volcanic eruption of exotic fruits. Citrus fruits, gooseberries, white peach and lemon rind demand your attention. The palette does not disappoint. It's bright and light on its feet. Grapefruit, apricot and lemons come along for the ride. There is some acid on the mid-plate which provides structure. Finishes with fresh toast and a slight hint of marzipan.
Excellent showing which is considerably improved from my impression 4 months ago. This wine causes all the senses to pulsate - top shelf. — 10 years ago

This bottle put me over the top on Catena Alta Malbec. In any decent year, as this one, beautifully extracted fruit under a dusty/earthy nose that screams its origin. Liquorice, blackberry, tobacco and neat acidity. An orchestra of cocoa to coffee. I'd serve this food-friendly beauty - they seem to hit a threshold at 4-5 years, longer for the single vineyard efforts - to my most wine-snobby guests. There may not be a better value in New World wine, which causes an issue only for Catena Zapata, who may have a hard time selling >$100 offerings when this can be had for <$40! — 10 years ago
I love this wine!!! Never disappoints!! It's got a hint of pepper, not overly tannic, spicy, deep gorgeous color!!! Sweet but not overly sweet - it cures what ails us!! — 11 years ago
Floral as F filled with the flowers this cheeky man is holding; a lil white bready, too--what causes this??? ~grolleau n gamay — 9 years ago
I freaking love these rose bubbles. It's no surprise @JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset called it No.69 because it's so good it causes a blackout. — 10 years ago

Simply wine! Beyond such a crystalline and focused mark on the label, it is covered up a complex structure of activities and causes indispensable to produce this white wine made from 100% manual harvested Cortese grapes. So much so this semplicemente vino is genuine salty and refreshing that I would "simply" drink it up - at least - a couple of Jeroboam just by myself or perhaps in good company with some straight-edge friends 😁 ps. Delectable name of the winery is: Cascina degli Ulivi a biodynamic farm up in the hills of Novi Ligure, 30 Kms south-east of Alessandria, an extremely vocated wine area in Piedmont (Italy).

Great nose and bold first taste, but it's age causes it to fade fast and lose power. That being said, a Jose Bautista homer in the 10th for a 2-1 Jays victory over the Yanks makes up for it! Yeah, that was meant for you my friend and unfortunate Yankee fan, Mike Walker!! — 10 years ago
I hope this finally cures the vicious cold I've had... — 11 years ago
Lush wet nose showing Saturday morning blueberry syrup. Jumps out of the glass. Wonderful nose! Ripe black fruit hits the tongue, candied walnut, soft mouthfeel with balanced tannins and cracked pepper round out the taste. Acidity is slightly high that causes the mouth to water over the ripe black fruit and smoke for a sustained finish. Well done @Rob Sinskey well done! 177 cases produced. — 9 years ago
The Thinker Is Right. This Spanish Galicia Region wine touches your lips and causes you to pause with expectations of smooth and tasteful Irish home made whiskey! Instead it delights your pallet with the full taster of mixed citrus Great cross over with Snow Crab Claws, Fresh Oysters, & Gulf Coast Red Bud Garlic Shrimp. Let's Think Again Real Soon — 10 years ago
This wine is deep and dark. The inky indigo color telegraphs the nose, exploding with blue and black berries and cassis, a whiff of campfire smoke and a mountain of prehistoric terroir. The palate is laden with dark fruit, too, not to mention spice and earth. The sage and rosemary linger into a finish that won't let you forget them. The tannic structure is fit for meat and aging while the acidity refreshes and causes the mouth to water. Beautiful work, Mike Sinor. — 10 years ago
Beautiful Floral Pinot- acidity that causes quite a pucker, yet this will soften over time. We'll stash it in the cellar for a while and report back ! — 11 years ago

Good friend in Orlando, Ed Murray, Dir National Sales for Wagner Family, and continual donor to our charities and causes, was kind enough to "insist" that we stop by Caymus for a taste of the latest vintages. Always one of my go-to wines, I especially love the Zinfandel (I swear I will get out of this phase soon)! This one is only available direct. It has all the deep deep colors of regular Caymus Cab, with some black pepper and that plum Zin fruit...and that signature Caymus dusty ending. One case to Orlando please! — 9 years ago
