Water white in colour. Aromas of Lime Juice, Citrus Peel, Talc and Minerals. On the palate a riot of Lime Juice and Citric Acid of profound intensity finishing bone dry. I can see why James Halliday gave this Riesling 98 points and his Australian Riesling of 2019 because of its sheer purity, power and intensity and its ability to live for 20 years and to keep developing. Sold Out everywhere except for 4 x 6 packs at the Cellar Door of which I bought a 6 pack. Classic Porongorup Riesling. Made for Dukes by Rob Diletti of Castle Rock Estate who I had the pleasure of meeting 2 days ago at his winery for a tasting. — 5 years ago
Rich, delicious, and a delight with food. Baking spices on the nose, it is suggestive of apple cider. — 6 years ago
Wild apple's final form. Pure flx terroir — 8 years ago
Fantastic American cider. As close to French cider as I have found in the U.S. — 8 years ago
Clean apple flavor with a funk on the end. If you haven't gotten on board the dry cider wine train, you need to start here. — 8 years ago
Tart and fresh and complex, cleaner than a Normandy with much of the acidity and ripe fruit. — 5 years ago
Tasty dry complex organic Vermont hard cyder w/ a" y "to distinguish it from the others. +So the children don't consume. From an orchard with 89 different varieties of apples! Highly recommended! — 5 years ago
Has been 2.5 years since I've visited this one. Still a lot of youthful qualities to it. Still almost a bracing acidity up front but the fruit profile shines through. Tart cherry blossoms, raspberry cola, dirty red flower. Middle of this one kind of gains a tangerine rind and a tart cherry finish. Went exceptionally well with pork chops but not so much the salad with the cider vinegar dressing. Solid 92 though. I don't think this one is at the top of the hill yet but it's not far away. I'd wait another year IMO. — 5 years ago
Located opposite the Chateau d'Yquem, the Rabaud-Promis castle, on the hill Rabaud since the late eighteenth century. Sweet stone fruit aromas with hints of honey. On the palate full flavors of orange and peach with notes of citrus notes adding a bit of spice. Balanced acidity, rich finish ending with botrytis-like character. Very nice! — 7 years ago
Very unique cider. It is tart and complex and beautiful. The mouthfeel is amazing, and as it opens up the flavors really come out. Definitely tastes like apple, but in a way you could never imagine. — 8 years ago
Apple cider, burnt autumn, minerality. Apple slush finish. Lively with ginger cookies lurking on the finish. — 9 years ago
I am absolutely loving these south hill ciders. So fresh and so clean. Nice sweetness on this one but tastes like apple, apple skin, a hint of pear actually, and a bit of citrus. So tasty! Batch 1701 — 5 years ago
This was tons of fun to try to pair, and to blend with!! What a joy to have this made and available so locally. — 6 years ago
Eight varieties blended. Light golden brown. No carbonation. Perfumed apple aromas. Heavy malic and McIntosh flavor profile, apricot skin too, watery with subtone of apple flavors. Light to moderate acid, fairly dry. "Taut tannins" were light, "austere flavors", definitely. 6.9% a/v, RS 0.8% — 7 years ago
Dooryard batch number 1502. Lighter in flavor intensity than other current/new ciders a la Tandem, but not a bad thing; refreshing. Not overly appley, only comes through at the start & finish in an essence. A little buttery. — 8 years ago
