The 2019 Malleolus de Sanchomartín is a 100% Tempranillo parcel wine sourced from Emilio Moro's vineyards in Pesquera del Duero and was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Purple with a garnet sheen. The modest nose offers dark fruit notes with hints of wild herbs. On the palate, it's dry, rich and juicy, with a taut, chalky mouthfeel that leads into a compact, restrained finish underscored by traces of oak. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, November 2023)

Rich tannins, some sense of red berries, terroir, earthy - great for the price! — 2 years ago
A perfect 10. The perfect balance of fruit and spice. Tempranillo grapes are the best 🥰 — 5 years ago

Blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 4% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha, grapes and various plots fermented separately, aged for 20 months in American oak, then blended. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with notes of leather, vanilla and oaky notes. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit, sweet oak and spice. Nice! ‘17 a bit better! — 5 months ago

Picked up 8 cases. At 5.85 CAD a great bargain for a nice rose. A lovely Grenache for the Summer, but full flavoured enough to enjoy year round. A great second bottle after a nice Chardonnay with Thanksgiving turkey. — 3 years ago
El Molar is an unusual 100% Garnacha from a region known primarily for Monastrell/Mourvèdre. It is sourced from the estate’s youngest plots in El Molar, planted between 2004 and 2010 on sand and chalk soils. Aged in large foudres and barrels for 14 months. Light ruby color. Red fruit. Tart berry aroma but smooth finish. Paired with scallops and asparagus but will be great with a meaty dish. — 7 years ago
