Delicious, get your nose into it! Opens up grande style, dirt, dry roots, eucalyptus, clay dust, cranberries. Smooth light tannins that sits heavy on the tongue and releases the flavor. Highly recommend, I would love to decant this next time! — 7 years ago

2001 Le Macchiole Messorio Merlot. Compared this wine to the '01 Casanova di Neri Cerretalto Brunello Sangiovese at the lunch which Ash prepared at the house. By a small margin, this wine was our fave of the two. Sweet fruit on the nose, but balanced, and a nice mouthfeel with a pleasant amount of tannins. We really enjoyed how balanced and delicious this wine was. — 9 years ago
