Probably the best croatina I’ve ever had! Okay, prob the only one I’ve ever had. Another Lou classic, earthy, funky, tart cherries, beautiful ruby color and barnyard nose. — 5 years ago
Beautiful floral notes - red roses hits you at first. Dried tart cherry, red currant, wild strawberry, fennel, mushroom. Touch of sandalwood once it opens up. Really nice — 6 years ago

If Barbaresco & Margaux had a baby… mostly Nebbiolo - very elegantly styled, regal bearing. No signs of age & fairly tightly wound still - bunch of dusty cherries mingled with spice, asphalt, herbaceousness and violets. Lovely perfumed nose leads to cherries & red fruit on palate, earth & soil but smooth - oh so smooth. Finish didn’t live up to the rest, but still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is best bottle of roccia Rossa I’ve ever had. So amazing. Nose of cigar, roses, so so old school. Licorice, mineral, loam, floral. So gorgeous, amazing sweet fruit, red and so pure. Velvety. So complex. Sweet tannins. Spices. Just so firm and insane. Amazing fruit sweet. — 5 years ago
Less aroma than Nebbiolo but surprisingly high tannins and very healthy dense color. — 6 years ago
80% Nebbiolo, 15% Vespolina & 5% Croatina
Color not of a wine of only 5 years...deep yet translucent ruby, brown edges, stunning.
Nose, I'm in love! If there was such a thing as a cherry with rose petal that was actually a rock and you could eat it without losing all your teeth or you're a Rock Biter, this is that wine!
Palate...cherry, cherry and did I mention cherry? Oh Nebbiolo how I love thee. Baking spice, anise, oh the palate is continually changing, I'm confused and over joyed, god damn life is complicated, or is it easy?
Paired this bottle with 4+ hour, slow/low grilled spare ribs and Brahms 7th Symphony, amazballs as my buddy would say!

Nose has intense and pure dark cherry fruit along with a lot of crushed stone-laced gravel, along with a note that reminds me of clove-studded pot roast. Focused and clear in the mouth, it’s basically got tons of flavor packed into a weightless package. Great acids. Tannins present and providing nice structure but soft. Long finish. Really nice. — 3 years ago
Nose is very welcoming. Hints of tobacco. Roasted plum. Plum skin.
Palate is sweet plum. Cherry. Delicious. Really sweet fruit. Chocolate. Good acidic balance
Very sexy texture. Really caresses the palate. Clings in a gentle but persistent way. Almost sensual.
