My first extended barrel age bottle from Booker to try. I tried this at pop, then about 4hrs later, and saved a glass for the next day. This was pretty open at pop but seemed to be best after it had been open a few hours (didn’t notice any sort of improvement/decline the next day). The aromatics here were floral (red and purple flowers/potpourri), baking spices (cinnamon) and fondue dipped cherries. It is deceptively dense while sporting a unique elegance about it. Kirsch liqueur, spicy rhubarb, and grilled plum are accompanied by sandalwood to round out the finish. I enjoy more use of whole clusters in these type of wines, but this is pretty delicious for the style. — 5 years ago
2016 Vintage. Same notes as previously posted by @Al Shikoh but more time has been good. — 5 years ago
Drinking beautifully right now. Dark and decadent fruit with a velvet mouthfeel and elegant finish. Hell yes! More please... — 5 years ago
Tasted tonight with their neighbor Booker. Both GSMs and both delicious. This one was fruitier and less earthy but still delicious. — 6 years ago
Booker is making some nice wines out of PR.. — 4 years ago
Wonderful past weekend enjoying some lake time with my family. These TX summers are brutal, but some relaxation by the lake always helps!
My first time trying this and after hearing the recent news (Constellation has investment in Booker now, as well as this wine has dropped from $50 to $30 and My Favorite Neighbor has dropped from $70 to $50), this is pretty killer juice for the price. A blend of 65% cab, 20% Syrah, and rounded out by equal parts petit Verdot, Malbec and petite Sirah. Inky, dark, fresh squeezed fruits abound. Aromatically, it showed spice cake, cinnamon, and baked mixed berry pie. The Malbec and petite Sirah show up on the palate with a hint of licorice and black pepper spice. Charcoal, cedar and grilled blackberries. It’s rich and decadent with a big finish. Paired perfectly with marinated skirt steak. — 5 years ago

Drank with Colin and Perrin on their deck during a virtual wine tasting. I absolutely loved this wine, my main takeaway is that the flavor and texture would suit everyone. It’s so so good — 5 years ago

I believe this was a one off production for Booker. Jada Vineyard is located near Denner.
I followed this over two days and if I would have guessed blind, there is no way I would have guessed 60% Grenache on either day (although day 2 showed more finesse and lift) as it seems more dominant Syrah. This is high-toned and juicy. Great nose to it. Aromatically, there is licorice, melted dark chocolate, ripe and baked dark fruits, herbs de Provence, and charcoal. It’s already fairly soft and plush on the palate. Bite of tannin and heat toward the mid palate and finish, but it’s certainly not as heavy or dense as you’d expect. Grenache shows up briefly with some pepper and a small reveal of dried red fruits at the core. I think this is in a good drinking window. I believe @Paul T- Huntington Beach helped me get my hands on one of these a while back... — 5 years ago
Jammy and delicious. Lots of black cherry and currants and it really lingers. — 6 years ago

For planning purposes of something in the future, I tasted 2014 central coast Syrahs from high end producers blind. Along with the Lillian (my bottle), there was SQN, Andremily, Torrin Akasha, Booker Fracture, Alban Reva and Alban Lorraine.
First off, I love these wines. The price in comparison to the others is impressive, and it always delivers. I double decanted this about two hours prior to the blind tasting. Dark purple in the glass, with aromatics of both sweet oak as well as whole cluster stem inclusion. Loads of dark floral notes, ripe blackberries, cherry jerky and that kiss of sweet oak. The palate remained the same from opening through the end of the blind tasting…a distinctly fuzzy profile on the palate with gorgeous mid palate depth and richness of blue and black fruits with plenty of herbal flair and spice. It toes the line between cool climate Syrah with their signature black peppercorn and iron, as well as big central coast Rhône style with its rich and textural palate. No rush on opening, but it sure is great now.
Out of the 7 in the lineup, this was the “cheapest”, and tied for 3rd place (with the Andremily being the runaway favorite, Alban Lorraine taking second, and this tying the SQN). — 4 years ago
