Lovely broad bready nose. Bright and defined. More of the bollinger style. A bit of yeast and zesty citrus. Good length, and real quality fruit. Very good. — 8 years ago

What a Friday group tasting put on by Dan! Killer wines. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert. All blind.
My guess here was mid-2000s Bollinger. Very creamy up front. The finish was so tart and dry that it begged for another sip. Yeasty, light chalk, crisp acidity. — 6 years ago

Excellent bubbly - fine mousse and lots of it, pronounced classic flavour profile highly reminiscent of the more 'masculine' champagnes like Bollinger at about half the price. At $41 the lcbo is not exactly giving the stuff away but excellent value — 7 years ago
The last release of Charlie; this one in 750 disgorged last year before finding its way to Brisbane; drunk by Champagne Awards past awardees; #champagne #charlesheidsieck #champagnecharlie #1985 #grandcru ; fresh of course but also magnificent; drunk alongside 1985 Bollinger RD — 9 years ago

Tonight I have opened a Langlois Brut NV Cremant de Loire, 60% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced in Saumur from 6 vineyards. The majority ownership is Bollinger which gives Langlois credibility.
On the pour the color is one of champagne gold with fine bubbles and lots of them, very nice to observe.
The nose gives me citrus notes, lemon, lemon zest, pear, apple, strawberry, a toasty bread highlight and minerality.
On the palate there is strawberry, lemon, pear, apricot, tangerine, honey and a toasted bread.
You will enjoy a creamy mouth feel with medium + acidity, very easy to drink and a long pleasing finish.

Vying with the '05 Bollinger Grand Année for top spot amongst all the champagnes tasted last night (dozens of wines). The extra bottle age gives it a very round and polished character. The Grand Année had slightly more acidity (welcome), the Gosset was more powerful. Great brioche and lots of apply fruit. — 8 years ago
