I bought this a Costco because I don’t think I had ever see a Margaux for $20(!). I was not disappointed. I generally love Margaux, though I find that they can sometimes be finicky, requiring decanting and lots of breathing before they fully reveal themselves. Not so this. It’s easy to drink on your terms, not the wine’s, and, in this way, it is faintly redolent of the New World, but I don’t mean that as a pejorative. Just pop it open and go. Very easy. Uncomplicated The wine itself is delicious. The texture seems slightly thicker to me, and this may be due, in part, to the higher alcohol content of this wine (14.5%) when compared to what I normally associate with Bordeaux. Overall, it has a nice balance of stone fruits and tannins, and, even if somewhat thicker and, perhaps, less distinguished than other wines from Margaux, it’s an enjoyable bargain. Nose is pleasant. Elegant. Peach pit.

Palate is elegant yellow fruits. Still very fresh. Good acidity. Nice richness. Some green apple skin. Elegant richness. Lacks a Skoche of minerality and a skoche of acidity.

Nicely dense and consistent Beaujolais. Deep red color and pretty tannic for a Gamay based wine. Aromas of black fruit with a cotton candy/bubble gum (not sweet) note. Black fruit flavors with a hint of mineral and black olive. You can chill it and drink it young or put it aside to age. — 4 years ago

Just had to try another bottle. Medium Ruby, youthful aromas of fragrant red berry fruits, smoky and earthy notes, aged in French oak for 15-17 months. On the palate flavors of raspberry, strawberry and cherry with notes of forest floor. Medium+ acidity with soft tannins on long finish ending with tobacco and earthy character. Very nice now will improve in the cellar! Paired nicely with sushi grade tuna dish with cilantro noodles and black garlic sauce, Yum! — 5 years ago

Slight reduction but very elegant and classy nose of white orchard fruit and some floral tones, wet stones and a lot of minerality that also that carries over on the palate, crisp and elegant, with great Puligny backbone, delicious and long mouth watering finish. Always a great wine made by the two Bachelet brothers. 92-93
