Malo, butter, minerality, orchard fruit.
Really pretty Burgundian style chard.
Just ripe green fruit. Crisp. Tantalizing. Mineral.
Long finish on the fruit. Would be nice to lay down. — 3 months ago
Though Jim is gone, this wine lives on and got fun with air after 60 mins. Drink up. — 8 months ago
A great Pinot noir with a little cat on the label. I think she’s a little fussy without food and at a high price point, but overall super enjoyable. I also don’t know how you rate anything on here below a 7. Most wine is just good ok??! — 20 days ago
Classic Pinot with strawberries and cherry aromas. Medium tannins and medium acidity. A good value even on a restaurant menu. Nice with food. Will get again. — 3 months ago
One of the best example of ripe style California Chardonnay I have ever had. It hits with a savory character of grilled pineapple, then gives away to a variety of ripe stone fruit, a roux of spiced oak and even further back, a crushed rock minerality that keeps the ensemble lifted and enticing. The pallet is even more surprising as it confirms the stone fruit, adds a touch of citrus and slaps you with tingling stony acidity that keeps going and going. The juxtaposition of opulence and lean elegance is outstanding. After drinking through some flabby 2018s recently, this is a smacking reminder of why I fell in love with Jim’s wines to begin with. Wow!!!! — 4 months ago
My first Clendenen Family Vineyards bottling.
It opens with apricot, baked apple, pear, and jasmine, unfolding into light vanilla, lemon curd, grapefruit zest, and just the slightest hint of Sherry. On the palate it’s warm and plush with lively acidity. Compared to ABC typically more mineral-edged style, this bottling feels more opulent, with greater emphasis on texture, offering a fuller expression while still carrying Jim Clendenen’s hallmark balance.
