The nose is typical with cherry, Raspberry, hay, Cola, even... This is quite welcoming. The palate shows some matter and a great acid drive. There are cherry notes dancing all along the acid drive, some width and some nice, a tiny bit thicker than usual mouthfeel. Some lively tannins kick in in the rear before a fruity finish with some salty, meaty touches in the end. This is a beautiful Julienas and I'm glad I have another bottle to leave on the side for a while. — 3 years ago

Medium deep ruby , pink rim , quite intense , with coloured tears noticeable . Quite closed but deep dark fruited , serious but compact nose , with touch of dark chocolate , grafite , blackberry , dark plum, cherry . On the palate more dark fruits , blackberry , dark plum , cherry , quite rich with dark chocolate, grafite nuances . Balanced acidity with quite gritty tannins . Slightly mineral and saline tinged on the medium length finish , with just a slight warmth from the alcohol noticeable . Certainly ambitious for a Castillion Cotes de Bordeaux , though unsurprisingly makes no mention of this on the front label ! This shows quite young , will improve over another 5 - 7 years and last a further 5-10. — 9 months ago
Great, rich. Black cherry with some cinnamon. Bought at Mitsukoshi for ¥5,000. — 5 years ago
Dominant Pinot Noir, plus gamay and cot .. Light red wine, good minerality. tangy notes of berries, nice acidity, nice freshness. A wine with nuances typical of the Loire Valley. — 5 years ago
Wow. Smooth. Interesting — 2 years ago
Really pretty blend. Musty and mineral-y. Not too fruity, subtle tannins. Very nice. — 4 years ago
With time to breathe was pretty wonderful — 6 years ago
very mineral and precise. considering vintage, ripeness very much in check. light straw to slight greenish hue. no flinty reduction. Considered the top Ente bottling in 2016 (more so than La Seve du Clos). — 7 years ago
