An incredibly powerful, oxidative wine from Jura. The intensely nutty, salty, oily, honied flavors were magical with the “Pastured chicken, preserved lemon, garlic confit” dish which tasted braised and white-saucey.

On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with hints of oak, herb spice and floral notes. Wine was complex and elegant with smooth tannins, long fruit and spicy finish. In a perfect place. Always love Bize and with some nice age this is great. Excellent pick from the somm at Daniel. Beautifully aromatic with wonderful fruit. Just a slight hint of tannin, but still good lifting acid on the finish. Great pairing with both a skin-on black bass as well as a nice strip loin. Long finish. — 4 years ago
