Made from the Rkatsiteli grape variety grown in the Kakheti region of the Country of Georgia. This wine was fermented on the skins in Qvevri, large clay jars buried under the ground, following the 8000 year old Georgian traditional method. The wine’s amber color is a result of its extended contact with the skins. Nose and palate of dried peaches, apricots, nuts, baking spices, herbs, honey, sea water. Medium full body, medium plus acidity, high tannins. — 6 years ago
The House of Croft, founded in 1678, was one of the earliest shippers of Port wines since the seventeenth century. Medium Amber with aromas of dried fruits and nutty earthy notes. On the palate flavors of juicy ripe red fruit, honey and raisins with nutty spice. Lingering sweet finish ending with toasty spices. Tasting Sample. Great value. — 6 years ago

45th Anniversary Dinner @Sapore in Burlingame. well preserved cork, amber edge with resolved tannins. Mature fruit which enhanced our meal. Mouth coating flavors covered my palate. A pleasure to drink and share. Worth the wait.👍. — 6 years ago

Nice amber color. Salt and good acid level — 8 years ago
Had this a year+ ago, tried a new batch, noticed label color changed. A big fan of Tawny Ports, especially the 20 year blends are a Fav. Fonseca Port was founded in 1822 and successive generations of the Guimaraens family have upheld the Company’s reputation. Medium amber color with aromas of honey and pronounced nutty notes. On the palate ripe dried fruits with sweet cinnamon spice and oak emerge from the glass. Soft tannins long smooth finish ending with a sweet nutty character. Very nice. — 6 years ago
Old scarlet color with amber rims, mostly translucent. Has a perfume that I covet. Notes of black fruit and some raspberries, freshly cut cigar, Provençal herbs, some gravel and pepper, and a hint of barnyard earth. Still has good fruit and structure, with tannins fully integrated. Velvet glove finish. I’ve had this maybe 15 times and it never seems to disappoint. — 6 years ago
Liquid amber color. Tree fruit spice and acid. Good summer wine. — 7 years ago
This Pinot May have converted me from Oregon to CA Pinot — 7 years ago
Med-deep amber color. Ultra appealing nose with loads of sweet honey, dried apricots, maple syrup, crushed almonds and a hint of wet stones. Med+ bodied, quite oily mouthfeel, very round and intense caramel, maple syrup and hint of smoky component. This wine attacks your entire palate in an attractive way. I like this a lot despite slight bitter finish. Paired perfect with chu toro (medium fatty tuna). 375 ml. 14.5% alc. 1989 vintage — 9 years ago

Deep gold to amber color. Beautiful clearly defined nose of green apple, hint of almond powder marzipan and buttered toast. Medium body with high acidity. Leads to an ultra long finish with mouthwatering fresh acidity. Really awesome stuff. Out of Magnum. — 5 years ago
