Medium ruby , medium wide terracotta , garnet rim . Touches of leather , earthy , caramel coated spiced cherry , vanilla . Elegant on the palate , notes of leather , cherry , black tea , vanilla spice . Fresh acidity , fine tannins , balanced acidity. This has an earthy mineral undertone with good length . This is showing well now and will continue well over the next 10 years or so. — 4 months ago
Revisiting the Tapiz cab. Balanced and smooth. James Suckling’s 94 points seem out of bounce though. With good amount of air, this wine drinks very well though. — 5 months ago
I have always been a fan of the wines from this domain. Now at age 15/16 this wine stands firm! Everything comes together with a nose of red fruit, licorice, leathersoap. The mouthfeeling is silky, cherries you know these big black ones, subtle acidity making you want to drink more but no need as the finish takes you over the minute. Fantastic wine! — 6 months ago

Apr 2025: fruit bomb, raisins and black plum, nice nose. Lucks acidity and little body, one dimensional — 7 months ago
Solid and tasteful. Yummy! — 9 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. This bottle of the 2005 Gran Reserva came from a Library Release in 2022 so the cork was perfect. The wine pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, ripe and some dried, mostly red fruits: Bing cherry, raspberries, plum, tobacco, leather, dill and assorted dried garden herbs, gentle baking spices and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is in a lovely spot and yet, has a long life ahead. Drink now with some patience and enjoy through 2045. — 3 months ago

Oerhört bra vin! Klassiskt, stort vin! — 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2001 Reserva pours a deep ruby/purple color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and loads of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of mostly dried, desiccated fruit: cherries, blackberries, leather, cocoa, earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium, integrated tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose plus the addition of an umami note that’s quite attractive. The finish is medium+ and slightly savory. Drink now. — 7 months ago

Tasted during WSET Level 2 class on 6/9/25. Very good tenparanillo. Mix of red and black fruits, hints of spice! — 5 months ago
Had the 2016 on Derby Day 2025. Dark, rich fruits. Some chocolate with a hint of leather. Vanilla and caramel from the barrel. Very interesting wine. The artwork on the front label is absolutely fascinating. Had to do the back of the bottle to get it in this app. — 6 months ago
Had in València. We really like this Rioja. Dry and smooth. A definite buy. — 6 months ago
Well the wife got brave and opened a bottle I didn’t want used in a sauce the other day. Probably had her dad over since I was on a bis trip. Glad I got to try. Nice wine. — 7 months ago
Delicious. Vibrant, bold, berry flavor with a really great price tag. — 9 months ago
