My last bottle from the defunct yet memorable winery.
Smells so delicious, like a fruit yogurt
This drinks like it is fresh, with blackberry bramble, subtle and unique red fruits tucked behind the leather ones.
Tannins are still very gripping, and the acidity tames it back. A touch of heat and its off to the races! — 3 years ago
Giornata Wines Luna Matta Vineyard Nebbiolo 2014: Pure. Fresh. Simply awesome! Roses & violets on the nose and intense red fruits, licorice & earth on the palate. I’m blown away by this Californian Nebbiolo that tastes like its from Barolo! Love love love this new world expression of an old world varietal! Cheers🍷 — 5 years ago
At the crest of the mountain but very enjoyable. Still has life. Nose is mature currents and red fruit. You can taste the Paso soil! Great marriage of Italian and American wine. The palate is silky compared to when it was released and has bursts of fruit. Slightly hot. Throwing some sediment but still a long-ish finish. — 6 months ago

Very interesting, very different. Well crafted. Kinsey really enjoyed it. — 5 years ago
Well, glad I kept this for another 6 years to see how it evolved. Cork was in amazing shape. Brick red. Almost tawny in glass. Dried flowers and herbs on the nose. Not a lot of fruit on the nose. Palate is more dried flowers, roses, leather, the faintest touch of pouch tobacco, plums, dried fig, maybe persimmon. It dries the mouth with tannin and acidity. Definitely secondary flavors starting. Probably the best wine deal I’ve ever had for this type of quality. Wish I had one more to try in 2028. — 10 months ago
PnP’d. Complete opposite of the AG cab. Smoky, earthy, and meaty. Medium depth. Hardly any fruit. — 4 years ago

Along with Gattinara, Bramaterra provides a great alternative to way more expensive nebbiolo wines from Barolo and Barbaresco. — 3 months ago
