I have opened the 2010 Château Calon Montagne-Saint-Emilion. A blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose I am getting black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, herbs, tobacco, licorice, chocolate, spice and earth.
On the palate there is nice dsrk fruit, black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, bay leaf, licorice, herbal notes, graphite and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a supple mouthfeel, medium+ acidity and medium to medium + fine supple tannins that leaves you with a long dark fruit earthy finish. Have a great week ahead and please be safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 4 years ago
Deep garnet color. Aroma includes oak and rich leather flavor. Enough concentration, but with elegancy. Smooth and gentle. Black fruits like black berry. Taste doesn’t include much leather flavor, so it doesn’t choose a specific drinker. A bit spicy. Canon second 8 years would be a reason for this taste. One hour, much powerful. Day 2 taste is much better!!! Aroma is quite gentle, taste is much smooth, well balanced with a bit spicy coffee flavor. It means it is better to decant it for enough hot. 2012 @2100, tatong - XH, 201002-201010 — 5 years ago
Chateau Le Loup 2016
Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Bordeaux blend. 50% Merlot, 25% Cab franc, 25% Cab Sauvignon. Aromas of blueberry pie and candied yams. Very smooth rounded tannins and a pallet filled with ripe blackberries and blueberries. Spicy vanilla and oak take over and leave a dry tart finish leaving you screaming for water and another taste. Yes I am drinking French wine..
Yes I rated it over 90.
Hard to believe, I know. — 6 years ago
This very nice 22 year old Saint Emilion is still drinking nicely with lots of complexity and a gentle mouthfeel.
Showing blue and black fruits with lots of earth notes, dark coffee, forest floor, wood and earth.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly.
A right bank Bordeaux off vintage, that is very yummy. That's a good score.
I've had the 2014 not too long ago, and it is worth putting it down for 15 years, especially if you get the 2015.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points. — 7 years ago
Really nice with some fruitiness- light for a Saint Emilion — 7 years ago
2020 vintage. The last vintage for this wine as it was bought from the Bécot family ( owners of Beauséjour-Bécot) by the owners of Haut-Brion in 2021. It will be incorporated into Château Quintus (which is a merger of 3 estates: Tertre-Daugay, L'Arrosée and Grand-Pontet). Many Saint-Emilion estates disappeared, incorporated into other estates, some very good wines sadly disappeared like Curé Bon La Madeleine (now into Canon), Cadet-Piola (now into Soutard) and so on. The fact that Grand Cru Classés can legally be incorporated into Premier Grands Crus Classés tells you that you have to take the classification with more than a grain of salt. A bit shy on the nose, even after a few hours. Medium-bodied, nice value for a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. — 3 years ago
Splendid. A bit spicy and vanilla flavor. Ample aroma. 6 years, but matured flavor and drinkable just from opening it. 2015 @997/375, xiaduo -, 211228-220102 — 4 years ago
👁 This wine is deep ruby. It has slow-moving tears.
👃 This wine has a medium-plus intensity of developing aromas. Aromas include primary notes of ripe blackberry, black cherry, black cassis, plum, violet, black licorice, clove, anise, and white pepper, secondary notes of cedar, nutmeg, and toast, and tertiary notes of earth, leather, and sweet tobacco.
👄 This wine is dry. It has medium acidity, a full body, high alcohol, medium(+) tannins, and a medium (+) intensity in flavors. Flavors are consistent with the nose and include primary notes of ripe blackberry, black cherry, black cassis, plum, violet, black licorice, clove, anise, and white pepper, secondary notes of cedar, nutmeg, and toast, and tertiary notes of earth, leather, and sweet tobacco. This wine has a long finish.
This wine is outstanding and may be consumed now but has potential for aging and further aging!
Chateau Pavie Macquin, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Premier Grand Cru Classé. Vintage 2012. ABV 14.5%. 84% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. — 5 years ago

Super expressive and fruit driven. Dried plums, and bramble berry. Softened with chalky notes and forest floor. Ripe, plush with red fruit on the palate. Tannins are soft but persistent. Minerality carries through with hints of vegetal character. Clay soil, heavy on the Cab Franc (30%). Drink now with a decant. — 5 years ago
1/2020. A big one from Saint-Emilion. Very nice on the palate with a nice lingering finish. — 6 years ago
Big WOW! I tasted this wine in September 2018 at the event held by the French embassy at Central World in Bangkok, Thailand; the wine did not impress my tounge at all. However, I bought 2 bottles because a friend of mine imported it. Today (Jan 18, 2019), the wine tasted very delucious after 30 minutes of breathing. Very flavorfull of cherry, blackberry, plum, and tobacco together with soft tannins and silky & reasonable length on the finish. The color is intense but bright ruby red color with medium-to-full-weight which is goes well with medium & sexy acidity. Very good value, excellent balanced, and savory wine to pair well with medium spicy Thai dishes. — 7 years ago
This is one of those wines that could look blah by the label. Nope. Nicely complex but still relatively approachable. On the nose is raspberry jam and grass notes. Taste is mixed berries quickly sautéed over a camp fire with a bit of lemon and herbs. New Years 2022 goal drink more Bordeaux wines. — 4 years ago

2015. Plum, dark fruit, minerals and stone flavors dominate in this solid Bordeaux. Tannins are firm but not overwhelming, integrating well with the other flavors after four hours of air. Only faint oak and acidity. Would welcome some more complexity over time - definitely a strong fruit frame to make it all work down the road. $43. — 5 years ago

Located on the outskirts of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion, at the southern foot of the slope. A blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Cab Franc &10% Cab Sauv, aged in 60% new oak, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruit accompanied by cedar & spice. The palate shows fresh ripe dark berry fruits, cacao, tobacco and espresso notes. Well balanced, perfect tannins, a joy to drink but cellar until 2022 for a better experience. The #Bordeaux 2009 vintage was legendary and this lovely Saint Emilion is another example. Not a big wine, yet delicious, elegant and complex, lovely notes of : oak , tobacco ,plum , cherry cedar wood, cassis, minerals, pencil shavings, graphite, mint and bell pepper, medium to full body with lovely tannins and an elegant finish. Starting to show its full potential. My score 90, drink to 2023 — 7 years ago
Excellent rich, deep, robust red wine. Have on a cold night with some steak or pot roast. — 7 years ago
