2016 vintage.
51 % Merlot, 31% Cab Franc, 17% Cab Sauv, and 1% Petit Verdot.
Dark ruby red with aromas of ripe black fruit, nutmeg, cedar and mushrooms Rich, ripe plum and raspberry with milk chocolate and smooth tannins. This wine is so easy to drink now but will age beautifully. Great value.

Opened my last 2010 bottle for my b’day! The 1855 classification recognized the quality of Duhart-Milon's soil by ranking it as the only 4th growth wine in Pauillac. A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot. Had this twice in a year, it’s still nice! Wonderful red fruit aromas and subtle spice scents. On the palate blackberry and currants, pepper notes, tobacco and cacao, complex, generous acidity, silky tannins on a lingering finish ending with mineral notes, Wow! — 7 years ago

2016 Lonesome Springs Cuvée, Marsanne/Viognier blend. Pale yellow white in color. Floral and tropical fruit notes in nose. Lemon, pineapple, guava notes in mouth, rounded mouthfeel, solid acid and Marsanne character on finish. Great with pecorino and chive popcorn — 8 years ago
Dark ruby hue. Medium-plus tannins and acidity. Notes of bell pepper, blackberry, blueberry, bramble, and tar. Stark on the nose, but brilliant and smooth on the palate, with grippy tannins. 51 Merlot, 42 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7 Petit Verdot. — 2 years ago
Tasted alongside the 2015 vintage. Both wines were opened about eight hours in advanced and allowed to slow-ox at cellar temp (51°F). Comparatively, this was more open for business. Dark cherry, gym sock, dried herbs, leather, and tomato leaf on the nose. On the palate, dusty cherry fruit with black tea and dried herbs. Rustic. Quite an old school charmer! Towards the end of the bottle, this started to tighten back up a bit but it was still my favorite of the two vintages tonight. I expect this to enjoy a long life. — 5 years ago
Complex blend. Dark red core with light brown edges. Nose of coffe and dark chocolate with a hint of blackberries and raspberries in the finish. Medium to full on the palate with bright fruit notes. Blackberries, grape, and ripe cherry. Finishes with coffee and dark chocolate flavored tannins. Yet due to age tannins are very smooth. Blend of 51% sangiovese, 13% pinot noir, 13% shiraz, 13% mourvedre, 6% nebbiolo, and 4% barbera. — 6 years ago
Had this a few years ago, disappointed that I opened this wine early so I opened one now. Deep Ruby red, with aromas of dark fruit and spice. On the palate, the blend of 51% Cab Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, and 12% Cab Franc, had blackberry and plums with notes of cacao and gentle smoky/toasty oak. The wine spent 16 months in 40% new French and American oak. Full bodied, nice balance and well integrated soft tannins. Time will continue to enhance this wine. Very nice! — 8 years ago
🎅 Advent 📆 Day 0️⃣9️⃣
Santa’s on a roll with another top year in one of my favourite St Estephes @ £37 for a halfy 👍 this is a great 91-92 now but will age to 94-95 easy 😉
🍇 51% Cab S & 49% Mer

This was absolutely delicious. Just the right amount of opulence for me. Dense and rich with a beautiful supporting acidity, fine tannins, and an impressive finish (even with my sinusitis working up). Cassis, cream, tobacco leaf, spice, somewhat smoky in the palate, and a touch of pyrazine to finish. Drinking well now, but will definitely see improvement with time.
Notes: 51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. 2012 had low yields for Ch Palmer. — 8 years ago
Another very interesting example of this cool climate Bordeaux Style Blend. Pennsylvania grown and produced. Cabernet Sauvignon (51%) Merlot (43%) and Cabernet Franc (6%). Only bottled in select years. Dark cherry aromas and flavors with subtle notes of earth and vanilla. (Aged 19 months in French Oak.). Lighter in body than many traditional Bordeaux Blends, but the tannins are reasonably chewy and the finish is long. Nice effort. Revisited in November 2021. Aging nicely. — 5 years ago
Pale Gold in colour. A muted restrained nose initially from this excellent vintage for White Burgundy. Also restrained on the palate. Lacks intensity in comparison with local Chardonnay for similar money. I know this is at odds with my previous note 32 weeks ago but you can only taste them as you see them. I have had some particularly good Australian Chardonnays lately albeit a little dearer than this at $51 AUD. Nothing inherently wrong with this Burgundy it just doesn’t deliver much. — 5 years ago
Excellent Chardonnay, Well rounded, White fruits, kiwi, melon, vanilla, butter and Oak. — 8 years ago
Tasted at Chateau
51% M, 39% CS, 5% CF, and 5% PV
Deep purple, no sign of age, compact rim. Youthful.
Fruit forward, dominated by red currant, underripe raspberry, red cherry. Baking spices and new wood smell.
On the palate, surprisingly approachable. Med plus tannin but softened already, med full body, dry. The midpalate really needs to fleshen out. Slightly lacking. Finish on nutty new oak.
Time will tell if this will turn out to be in line with a line up of superb recent wines from this classic house. 89+? — 8 years ago

A blend of 6 vintages - 2020 (51%), 2019 (31%), 2018 (3%), 2017 (8%), 2016 (5%), and 2015 (2%). From the Hoffmann’s Dallwitz vineyard. 6327 bottles filled. Aromatics of old vine Barossa Shiraz. The fruit is so plush and ample together with liquorice, chocolate, blue fruits, and spices that it masks the M plus tannins. I note that Fraser likes to taste these Little Wines “when primal and vital, a year or two after vintage “. I totally agree. I have tasted Little Wines with over 5 years of cellaring and find that you are giving up that freshness and vitality for a limited increase in savoury profile. The secondary value of Sami-Odi wines have increased dramatically in recent years. I paid $55 per bottle on release and note that United Cellars are now selling for $325. All the more annoying when I broke a bottle unpacking the tricky little cartons of 3 when I received them. The odd 4 letter word was uttered!!! Therefore I have one left for future enjoyment. I ended up having the last bottle 68 weeks later on 4th May 2025 with consistent notes taking into account Fraser’s note that he likes to drink Little Wine in its first couple of years. Blackberry currant and chocolate. — 2 years ago
