pale garnet, tawny rim; black cherry, plum, leather, tea, composting leaves; tart cherry and pomegranate; medium body, light tannins, medium+ acidity, 14.2% ABV; despite Santa Barbara County appellation fruit is all from Santa Rita Hills vineyards including 44% Ranco La Viña, 30% Rio Vista, 13% Zotovich, 7% Radian, and 6% Buona Terra, aged 10 months in 30% new French oak; very nice entry level California Pinot at $35 from the OG of Central Coast Pinot — 3 years ago
Bright, light with a touch of creaminess to really smooth out this bouncy wine. Slight floral on the nose and tart green apples with pears rounding it out. Perfect with a Rosemary Brussel Sprout & Ricotta Cannelloni I made! — 4 years ago
Medium lemon yellow. Subtle nose with notes of lemon, Golden Delicious apple, and pear with hints of honeysuckle. Medium body on the palate with minerality and refreshing acidity. Made from a blend of fruit from multiple SRH vineyards including 40% Rita’s Crown, 30% Bent Rock, 16% Clos Pepe, 10% Zotovich, and 4% Kessler-Haak aged 13 months in 15-20% new French oak. 14.2% ABV. — 5 years ago

my new fave california pinot — 7 years ago
Complex chard from SRH. Sourced from four different vineyards. Hence the name. Zotovich, Closr Pepe, Bentrock, Kessler-Haak. Nice way start off the Thanksgiving day — 7 years ago
2010. Hung on nicely. Raspberry, cola, soft mouthfeel, touch of earth, hint of tobacco, and acid holding all things together. Homemade meatloaf worked well. — 3 years ago
Rare that I come across a truly exceptional CA Pinot. This is one. — 4 years ago
This was also relatively open but more complex than the Zotovich. It was my favorite Pinot of the evening. We also had the 2017 Pisoni but I failed to get a pic. The Pisoni was more complex like the Drum Canyon but I feel it will be better in the long run.
Paul Lato was in town and I had the chance to spend some time with him and taste through several of his new releases. His wines are great across the board. — 5 years ago
Médium garnet, legs, medium nose, potpourri, dried roses, slightly meaty and bloody, cumin and sage and smoke. On the palate it’s completely #californiawine with a rich and luscious body and flavors. Strawberry tart and rhubarb. With a touch of leather. Wicked #pinotnoir from #staritahills #zotovich — 6 years ago
Normally I don't drink Pinot Noirs without food, but this was outstanding. A subtle burst of fruit up front with balanced oak mid-palette. I let it open up for about 15 minutes — 7 years ago

Dark berries and spice — 5 years ago
A little clenched on opening but quickly turning sappy and aromatic, with copious aromas of red currant, cranberry, and pine. Fresh and almost racy on the palate, with all of the fruit purity and animating acidity that are such a hallmark of the Santa Rita Hills in general and this especially cool, sandy site specifically. The 100% whole cluster inclusion is wonderfully integrated, contributing seamless, satiny structure and a hint of juniper and bay leaf on the finish. — 5 years ago
