Not as dark & opulent as the 97 ZD Reserve. But still another very good properly stored bottle. Cork looks great for the age. A little brickish at the edges . Give it 30-45 minutes to blow off the age. Can’t put it down now, this is a 1 person bottle. Had to give it an extra couple points Parker 88 back in the day. So much better now — 7 years ago

Smooth and balanced Zd blend: blackberries, cherries and hint of vanilla — 3 years ago
50th Anniversary. ZD cabernet sauvignon 2018. “Young and Bold!” This redeems the last bottle of ZD I had. This has a zing to it like a zinfandel . WOW. If I did not know better I would think it was zinfandel. This has lots of dark fruit on the beginning as you would expect from a cab. I can taste the grapes - if that makes any since; and it is definitely a cab grape. I taste black raspberry and ripe blackberry. There is oak and charcoal jamming in the middle. Smoke and graphite. And that spicy zing! Finish is moderately dry. I love this wine. Well worth the price of 75 dollars. — 5 years ago

Great cork for 19 years,
I think the 27% Merlot brings the score down for me. 2002 Jones & 97 ZD reserve are a step above at half the price,
One of the flagship wines of the late Jess Jackson’s Artisans and Estates limited production offerings is the 2001 Cardinale, a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot from some of the finest Jackson-owned vineyards on Mt. Veeder, Keyes on Howell Mountain, Alexander Mountain Estate as well as purchased fruit from the Stagecoach, To-Kalon and Peter Michael vineyards. — 6 years ago
Very clean. Granche nice balance. Light but not frilly. Has substance — 7 years ago
I was amazed at the transformation of this 41 year plus sweet CA white. The color was like a cup of coffee. The nose was caramel and lavender. More of the same on the palate with honey and baking spices undertone. Medium plus finish. A really fun drinking experience. — a year ago
Very unique wine as a blend of 10 vintages. Saify tannins for a Cabernet. Enjoyable. — 4 years ago
This paired very well with a lobster risotto Christmas dinner! The Chardonnay had a nice citrus note. — 6 years ago
... beautiful cherry color. Bright yet balanced. Soft fruit notes at first with a slight spice at the end. Opened during quarantine due to COVID — 6 years ago

Amazing density that lifts the sensory palate. Must try. Didnt seem like a port but a lighter amarone — 7 years ago

2012 vintage. Last tasted (and bought) 9.6.23 (9.4). Nothing has changed within that note from that day. Picked up a case then. Picking up a case now. 6.24.26. — 6 days ago
