Deep ruby colour with aromatic notes on nose with berry flavours with hints of chassis and tobacco on palate well balanced although still some acidity as under screw cap but sure to develop and mellow further.
An excellent example of Margaret River Bordeaux blending. — 10 months ago

Brilliant silver-straw. Lime zest, honeysuckle, succulent herbs and chalky minerals on the incisive nose. Dry, tightly focused and lithe on the palate, offering intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors that reveal a hint of waxiness and a refreshingly bitter quinine note. Shows a delicate touch and finishes clean, nervy and quite long, with resonating mineral character and a hint of lemon thyme. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, July 2021)

If you don’t like smoke then don’t go here. I love this in a Manhattan but just keeping it clean tonight. I love this and thought man I wonder if this has some type of smoke additive. They claim not and it’s purely from the Scotch/Bourbon/Rye blend (undisclosed brand on the Scotch). — 6 years ago

This is just ridiculous. Act 7. Tastes of deep figs/plums up front as if grandma just baked a pie in your mouth. Finished smooth with a tiny bit of spice and more jams that make you want to cry. More of this please. — 6 years ago
This is the 2nd rated Vasse Felix Chardonnay behind the world class Heytesbury and ahead of the amazing value Filius. This was my last 2017 having made no notes for the first two. Expresses everything which is great about Margaret River Chardonnay. Complexity without cost. Ripe grapefruit with a balanced creamy French oak note which is largely integrated at 7 years of age. More citrus than stone fruit - a little nectarine? Great QPR at $31 AUD. — a year ago

Fantastic. Nothing out of place here. Open ripe cassis & blackberry fruit notes with a subtle lick of mint and dried herbs supported by some classy sweet mocha oak. Good to go now with a bright future ahead. — 5 years ago
Chocolate, green pepper. Good example of a Margaret River cab — 6 years ago
Delicious Demerara rum. Complex notes of toffee, molasses and somet'in' somet'in' #rumofmypeople — 6 years ago
Savoury is the name of the game. Medium to full bodied, long finish, gravelly drying tannin, blackcurrent, mint, eucalypt. Great nose, 2 hr decant and felt it was finally opening up. Very left bank Bordeaux like, 85% cabernet sauvignon. 10% petit verdot. 2% merlot. 1% cabernet franc. — 7 years ago
My 11th bottle of an original dozen bought on release. Still going strong after 26 years. Colour of mid crimson with a tawny rim. When decanted the wine threw a lot of sediment. Herbaceous with red fruits - hint of red currants. Palate is mid weight - sweet and savoury at once, finishing with smooth resolved tannins. I will leave the last one for another 1 or 2 years / say early 2027. — 10 months ago
Well balanced with a touch of lemon and lime and a bit of oak. Much more familiar with CA Chards but will definitely revisit Australia again. — 2 years ago
Unscrew and pour yesterday. Noted from 24 hrs open. Fantastic PQR. Lovely meyer lemon and soft mango notes, some oak-influenced vanilla, but very stylish. On the palate: lovely acidity, soft slate, good density and a juicy finish. At the garagiste price of about 27 bucks, this is leaning in the case buy direction. Yum. — 4 years ago
Blackberry, vegetal, herbal, with greenery. Some smokiness on the nose with black licorice. It's great to have an alternative of comparable quality to Napa Cabernet. In terms of $/points this punches way above its weight. To me, this is a very slightly better version of Faust Cab.

Mid Lemon in colour. Nutty aromas with some orange peel and leesy notes. On the medium weight palate some restrained stone fruit flavours well integrated with the oak - well balanced. Medium plus intensity and length. Proving once again that the strengths of Margaret River are Cabernet and blends as well as Chardonnay. Fine minerality but a bit short n too oxidized for my taste. Reminds a little of cava. — 7 years ago

Nicely aromatic & restrained (for Australia) with purity of dark fruit (blackberries, plums, mulberry), nice depth and excellent tannins quality - juicy, polished, finely grained.
Very elegant & with beautiful balance between the ripeness & savoury notes.
A really lovely wine! — 9 months ago
